Animations and Layers that Build! Test animation while practicing speaking to slides to make sure timing works! If layers are built on top of one another, spread the layers out over many slides to easily edit! Slides will be flattened in a PDF so the intent could change from the animated version Animation appears flat in a PDF document; content cannot be read 7

Network Diagrams Content should be organized and clearly understood Slide is crowded and too detailed with overlapping content. Spread out on multiple slides. Scannable, clear path for viewers to follow with correct icon graphics. 8

Keep Charts Simple Use the template slides as a guide! Charts should be simple and clear! Use charts from the template and modify data! Use blue to represent NetApp in a chart or diagram! No outlines on bars! Values can be inside or above bars! Legend can be at the side, bottom, or inside chart Chart Example 9

Troubleshooting Manually fixing text when it is not appearing correctly If you ve created manual text boxes outside template fields, you may still experience formatting issues when you import content even after you ve assigned and reset the slide layout. To fix, cut and paste copy. Issue Text does not adjust after applying and resetting layout Solution Cut and paste text into the proper placeholders 12

Readability Viewing tips! Make sure your slides are readable from the back row! View your slides by standing several feet away from your computer screen to test readability 19

Default Font Is Arial Do Not Change Aa Only use Arial font 16 22 Points is the range for Body Text 11 Points is the minimum size for any font 11 16 Points is the range for callouts and labels! Use bold and/or blue text for emphasis! Do not use italics! Limit use of underlines 20

Capitalization and Punctuation! Do not use periods at the end of bullets! In bullets, capitalize only the first word with the exception of company names and product names! Use initial caps (capitalize each word, except small words a, an, the, and, of, in, for, from etc.) for:! Slide Titles! Section Divider Slides! Labels on Diagrams Aa 21

Choosing from Layouts Follow the steps on the next two slides, watch the training video or read the PDF to help import slides from previous presentations into the new template. Just click on a graphic icon below. 1. Open the new NetApp Insight 2016 template For more help watch the Training Video or review the Quick Reference Guide 2. Rename your file using Save As with the Session ID and title of your presentation, and save to your desktop 3. Open the old presentation in Slide Sorter mode 4. Select all the slides you want to move and copy 5. In the new presentation, view Slide Sorter mode. Choosing from Layouts Follow the steps on the next two slides, watch the training video or read the PDF to help import slides from previous presentations into the new template. Just click on a graphic icon below. 6. Click after the last sample slide and paste, choose Use Destination Theme under Paste Options For more help watch the Training Video or review the Quick Reference Guide 7. Slides will automatically use the new template s look and feel 8. Reset slides to the correct layout using Home/Layout. Make sure every slide is assigned to a new template layout. 9. Insight File Name Convention Ensure your session ID is correct! Insight presentations are organized by session ID number and correspond to the conference catalog! Include your session number, title, version # at the beginning of the presentation file name and save as:! Session# title version.pptx! Example: MS-3-352 Exchange Best Practices v2.pptx 29

Insight Presentation Review Process Flow Presenter participates in mandatory dry run Presenter uploads revised PPT to SRC within 3 days of dry run Decca Account Manager (AM) reviews PPT Decca Editor, PPT Team, AM review and approve PPT Decca uploads to SRC with review slide at beginning of deck and a + SRC notifies presenter via email If PPT requires significant edits or is out of brand, it will be rejected. Decca to contact presenter. 36

Presentation Review Process Upload slides to the SRC within 3 days of your dry run Presentations should be 90% final when submitting for review Branding team will review within one week of receipt A review note will be placed before your title slide with a summary of changes and recommended changes A + added at end of file name will indicate approval Approved slides will be posted to the SRC 37

Presenter s Checklist Steps to a successful presentation! Subscribe and bookmark the Speaker Resource Center (SRC) to obtain Insight presentation resources and manage your content development tasks! Download 2016 Insight PowerPoint Template and Brand Guidelines! Review videos, QRGs and Brand and Presentation Guidelines! Create presentation outline and upload to the SRC! Schedule walk-through review with your manager and track leader! Attend dry run scheduled by the Insight team! Submit complete presentation to SRC for review within 3 days of your dry run! Do not make any changes until you receive your notification that your slides have been approved! The branding team will review and edit your presentation deck as appropriate! Once notified that your presentation has been approved, log in to the SRC and download the latest version! Make any last-minute, minor edits and upload your final presentation to the SRC 1 week prior to the event 38
