Using Cranbrook s Cemetery Web Map Navigating around the site Use the + and - buttons to zoom in and out of the map. You can also use your mouse by rolling your mouse wheel forward to zoom in and backwards to zoom out. To navigate around the map, simply click the map and drag it in any direction. Zoom In/Out using the + and - buttons Turning Map Layers On/Off Click on the Layers tab in the bottom left corner of the screen. You can turn layers on and off by clicking the box next to the layer, by default they are all turned on. Turn Layers On/Off by clicking the check mark beside the layer name Layers Tab 3
Identify Tool Using the Identify Tool you can click on any plot and get information about it. Select the plot listed under the Identify Results window. The plot information will appear and the map will zoom into the location of the plot. Identify Tool Information about the plot is listed & map zooms to location How to Search for Information There are a number of ways you can search for the location of plots within the cemetery either by name or plot description. These include: - Search Bar - Links on the Home Page - Tools Menu - I want to. Menu Tools Menu Search Bar I want to.. menu Home Page Links The Search options on the Tools Menu, I Want To Menu, and the links on the Home Page all bring you to the same search tools. You can search by First and Last Name or by the Plot details. 4
Search by Name Select one of the Search by Name tools from any of your search options. You can search by full name by typing in both the First and Last name, or just enter in either the First OR Last name. Names will auto populate once you start typing. Select the Search button. Type First/Last Name If you only entered in First or Last name you may get a list of possible search results. Click on the correct name in the search results on the left side of the screen. The details of the plot will be listed and the map will zoom into the location on the map. Search Results include Name and plot details Map highlights and zooms to location of plot 5
The Search Bar is another quick way to search by name. Start typing the name in the search bar and name will auto populate in the search bar. Click on the correct name. Names will auto populate once you start typing Your results will appear on the left side of the screen, click on the correct result. The information pertaining to that plot will appear and the map will zoom to the location within the cemetery similar to the other search tools. Search by Plot Details Select one of the Search by Plot tools from any of your search options. You are required to select a Cemetery from the drop down list and click on at least one of the other parameters. Click Search. Select a Cemetery and at least one of the other parameters Your result(s) will appear on the left side of the screen, click on the correct plot. The map will zoom into the location of the plot. 6
Creating a Cemetery Plot Report & Map Once you have located the plot on the map using your search tools, you can create a Cemetery Plot Report. This report includes a map and lists the details about the plot. It can be saved to your PC, emailed, or printed. Select the Cemetery plot report option under your Tools menu. To select one plot choose the point geometry tool and click inside the plot on the map. Press Continue. Cemetery Plot Report Select the point tool then click inside the plot on the map Click Open report. Your report will contain 3 maps and the Plot Information. The PDF file can be saved to your computer, emailed, or printed. 7
