Marquette University College of Nursing Scholarships The Marquette University College of Nursing offers its full-time students several scholarship opportunities. A current FAFSA must be on file in the University Office of Financial Aid in order to be considered for a scholarship. Most scholarship decisions are made in the spring and summer for awarding the upcoming academic year. To be considered for a scholarship, please complete the College of Nursing Scholarship Application found on the Marquette University College of Nursing website and forward it to the College of Nursing director of academic business affairs. SCHOLARSHIPS FOR FULL-TIME UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS Cecilia Borenitsch Nursing Scholarship The Cecilia A. Borenitsch Nursing Scholarship is open to nursing students with financial need. Students must reside in Milwaukee, Waukesha, Washington, or Ozaukee counties. Students must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.00. William H. Wasweyler Scholarship The William H. Wasweyler scholarship is a merit based scholarship provided to residents of Milwaukee, Waukesha, Washington or Ozaukee counties. Students must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. K Fund The K Fund provides scholarships to full time undergraduate College of Nursing students. Jane Regan Harris, Class of 1965 Scholarship The Jane Regan Harris Class of 1965 Scholarship is awarded to students who are interested in studying end of life care. Scholar s Fund The Scholar s Fund provides need based scholarships to College of Nursing undergraduate students. SCHOLARSHIPS SPECIFIC TO INCOMING FRESHMAN Florence Brady-Murray Scholarship The Florence Brady-Murray Scholarship is a need based scholarship awarded to incoming students from Fremont, Vickery, Clyde, or Sandusky, Ohio or were born in Ireland. Nancy Long Pesiri Scholarship (next award in fall of 2012) (determined through the Scholarship Competition held on February) The Nancy Long Pesiri Scholarship is awarded to incoming freshmen based on a scholarship competition. The four-year award is provided once every four years. The next award will be given in fall of 2012. The College of Nursing determines the scholarship recipient based on University Admission applications. SCHOLARSHIPS SPECIFIC TO JUNIORS McGrath Scholarship The McGrath Scholarship is awarded to a junior nursing student who will be enrolled in nursing clinicals. The student must have a cumulative GPA or 3.0 or better and demonstrate financial need.
SCHOLARSHIPS SPECIFIC TO SENIORS Mary Catherine Foley Scholarship The Mary Catherine Foley Scholarship is given to a senior student who overcame great obstacles in order to achieve his or her college degree. The student must demonstrate financial need as defined by federal standards by the Marquette University Office of Financial Aid. Students should apply for this scholarship during their junior year by submitting an application by September 15. Scholarship decisions will be made in October and will be applied to the fall term. SCHOLARSHIPS SPECIFIC TO UNDERREPRESENTED STUDENTS SCHOLARSHIPS SPECIFIC TO MSN STUDENTS Agnes A. Reinders Scholarship The Agnes A. Reinders Scholarship is awarded to full-time graduate students in the Master s Program in Nursing. SCHOLARSHIPS FOR FULL-TIME MSN, PhD, and DNP STUDENTS Patricia B Apple Scholarship The Patricia B. Apple Scholarship recognizes merit and commitment to nursing and home health care among employees of the Visiting Nurse Corporation. Eligible students must be employed at the Visiting Nurse Association for at least one year, have the recommendation of one s immediate supervisor, meet required employee performance standards, and demonstrate the ability to complete a project or course successfully. Applications for the Patricia B. Apple Scholarship Award may be obtained from Visiting Nurse Supervisors. The Visiting Nurse Association selects the recipient. Ann Rehberg EOL Care Scholarship The Ann Rehberg End of Life Care Scholarship provides financial aid to nursing graduate and doctoral students who want to pursue a career in end of life care. The Ann Rehberg End of Life Care Scholarship is a need based award. Lawrence F. & Margaret C. Stollenwerk Scholarship The Lawrence F. & Margaret C. Stollenwerk Scholarship is for a graduate student enrolled in the Program for Advanced Gerontological Nursing. The student must demonstrates financial need and maintain a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA.
Jayne Regan Harris, Class of 1965 Scholarship The Jayne Regan Harris Class of 1965 Scholarship is awarded to students who are interested in studying end of life care. Tuition Scholarship There are a limited amount of tuition scholarships available for full-time students in the graduate program.
