Using Jive Mobile Web 3 Using Jive Mobile Web Jive Mobile Web makes it easy to stay connected to your community when you're away from your computer. Jive Mobile Web enables you to access your community from a mobile device. From your mobile, you can: Scroll through your All Activity and Connections streams. View, comment on, and like content. Create a discussion or status update by tapping the Create button. Follow people, view their contact information and recent activity, and send them an email or call them right from your device, by tapping their avatar and exploring their user profile. Search for people, content, and places by tapping the Search button. Note: Jive Mobile Web uses the Internet to connect to your community; therefore, your mobile experience can be influenced by the reliability of the mobile device's network connectivity, which varies depending on many environmental factors. Connect to Your Community Follow these steps to visit your community for the first time from your mobile device. To Connect with an iphone or Android Native App: 1. Be sure you are using one of the supported mobile devices listed in System Requirements for Mobile. 2. Go to the app store on your mobile device and search for "Jive Software". 3. Install the app on your device. 4. Launch the app. 5. Enter the URL of your community. 6. Depending on how your community administrator has set up mobile access to your community, you may or may not need a registration code to access your site. If you need one, skip to the instructions below. 7. If you don't need a registration code, you will see your community login page after entering your community's URL. Enter your username and password and tap Log in. Remember to uncheck Remember Me if you are using a shared mobile device or just don't want your credentials stored. 8. If you want to register another mobile device, just repeat these steps on the new device. To Connect from a Mobile Web Browser: 1. Be sure you are using one of the supported mobile devices listed in System Requirements for Mobile. 2. From your mobile device's built-in browser, go to the URL of your community. Depending on how your community administrator has set up mobile access to your community, you may or may not need a registration code to access your site. If you need one, skip to the instructions below. 3. If you don't need a registration code, you will see your community login page. Enter your username and password and tap Log in. Remember to uncheck Remember Me if you are using a shared mobile device or just don't want your credentials stored. 4. If you want to register another mobile device, just repeat these steps on the new device. To Get a Registration Code: From your primary computer (not your mobile), go to your community and click on your name in the upper right corner and select Preferences > Mobile. Enter a name for your mobile, i.e., Joey's Phone, (alternatively, you can point your mobile at the QR code on the screen if you have QR recognition software) and then click Get Activation Code. You'll then be prompted to point your mobile's built-in browser to an activation URL. From there, enter the

Using Jive Mobile Web 4 activation code and follow the prompts to complete your mobile's registration. Then, from your mobile's built-in browser, enter the URL of your community. Caution: If you cannot connect to your community from your mobile device, be sure your mobile's browser does not have Private Browsing enabled. On most devices, you can disable Private Browsing in the browser's Settings. Jive Mobile Web Tips & Tricks Learn to use your mobile like a pro in your community. All Platforms Go to the Home Page Tap to View Items and Execute Actions Scroll and Zoom Large Images and Content Items Create a Status Update Create a Discussion @mention Someone Tap your community's header logo to jump to the Home page. Tapping a content item opens it. For non-content items such as a phone numbers, email address, or URL, a tap will launch the action, i.e., start a phone call, email, or open a Web page. All images automatically resize to fit properly into your mobile window. Tap any image to open it in a new window where you can use your browser or mobile's native resizing features, such as scrolling and zooming. If you are viewing an item with content that does not fit within the mobile device window, for example, a table, tap the open in new window icon (to the left of the Search icon). From a new window, you can now scroll and zoom to see the item better. To go back to your community, close the window using your browser controls. Tap the Create (pencil) icon in the upper right corner, next to the Search icon, then Status Update (on a phone, you may need to tap the triangle to select Status Update). Tap the box to see your cursor and begin typing. To @mention another user, tap the @ button, tap the Search box, and then begin typing the name of the person; select their name when the application suggests users to you. When you're finished typing, tap Update or Post. (You may have to tap OK before Update, depending on your device.) You can attach an image or @mention someone, too. Tap the Create (pencil) icon in the upper right corner, next to the Search icon. To @mention another user, tap the @ button, start typing the name of the person, and then select their name when the application suggests users to you. When you're finished typing, tap Update or Post. (You may have to tap OK before Update, depending on your device.) Tap the @ button and then the text box to begin typing the person's name, followed by Search. The mobile app remembers your recent @mentions to make this easier for future @mentioning.

Using Jive Mobile Web 5 Search for Content Tap the Search icon in the upper right corner, next to the Create icon. Tap in the search box, type in your search keyword(s), and then tap Search. The app returns three pages of results: Users, Content, and Places. Tap one of these to scroll through the search results. Android Add Your Community's Bookmark Image to Your Phone's Home Screen Adjust App Notifications From the Home screen where you want to add the bookmark, press and hold in an empty space to bring up the Add to Home Screen menu. Select Shortcuts > Bookmark > (your community bookmark). Note that your community administrator needs to have designated an icon for this capability (called a Bookmark Image). If you enable notifications, you'll get a notification for each new item in your Inbox. To adjust how your notifications are sent, from the mobile app, select Menu > Settings. Blackberry Add Your Community's Bookmark Image to Your Phone's Home Screen Browse to the community and log in (optional), press the Menu button on the device, and then select Add to Home Screen. Note that your community administrator needs to have designated an icon for this capability (called a Bookmark Image). Apple Go to the Home Page Jump to Top of Page (iphone only) Scroll through Your Streams Use the Reader View to Send, Like, Follow, or Comment On Content in the Connections Stream Add Your Community's Bookmark Image to Your Home Screen Adjust App Notifications Tap the Home icon (tablet only) or your community's logo in the header to jump to the Home page. Tap the current time in the top navigation bar to jump to the top of the page. You can scroll up and down through any of your streams using up and down swiping motions. Tap once on an item in your Connections stream and then tap either of the triangles in the top navigation bar to scroll back and forth between the content items in the stream. From this view, you can also like, follow, or comment on the item, or send the item to another user. Log into your community using Safari, and then tap either Safari's bookmark or add-to icon (depending on device version) and select Add to Home Screen. This places your community's icon on the last page of your Home screen. Note that your community administrator needs to have designated an icon for this capability (called a Bookmark Image). If you enable notifications, you'll get a notification for each new item in your Inbox. To adjust how your notifications are sent, from the main screen of your phone (not from within the mobile app), go to Settings > Notifications > Jive.

Using Jive Mobile Web 6 Using the Native iphone App The native app available for iphones allows you to do the most essential tasks in your community. For example, you can: Scroll through all of your streams, including your custom streams Follow content, people, and places in multiple streams Create status updates and discussions Post a status update in a specific group Add @mentions and images to status updates and discussions, including discussion replies Read and reply to content Mark items as Helpful, Decision, or for Action Search for content, people, and places See your personal content activity To see the main menu, click the bars icon in the upper left corner or swipe from the left on your phone's screen. You should see something like the following. Now just tap an option to get started!

Using Jive Mobile Web 7 Enabling Push Notifications on Your iphone If you enable notifications, you'll get a notification for each new item in your Inbox. To adjust how your notifications are sent, from the main screen of your iphone (not from within the mobile app), go to Settings > Notifications > Jive. Connecting to Another Community If you want to add another community to your iphone app so that you can access multiple communities from the app, go to Settings > Change Community. Enter the URL of the community and then click Sign In. (Depending on how your community is set up, you may need to provide a registration code.)
