Made in USA Internal, Oil-immersed Secondary Circuit Breakers Transformers subjected to overloading or applied on lines without overload protection should be self-protected. Self-protected distribution transformers offer a complete, unified system of overload protection. The primary means of protecting the transformer is the circuit breaker, which is designed to give adequate protection from short circuits and severe overloads.

Options: Signal Light - One of the features of the self-protected pole-type transformer is the signal light. When the transformer is thermally overloaded, the signal light will light, serving as visual evidence that an unusual overload has occurred on the transformer. Emergency Overload - Through the use of the emergency overload lever, selfprotected transformers are able to carry overloads in excess of those normally permitted by the circuit breakers. If a transformer circuit breaker has tripped and the bimetals are still at trip temperature, the use of the emergency overload lever may allow the operator to close the circuit breaker to restore service. Tri Clamp Low Voltage Bushing The ECI TriClamp Low Voltage Bushing is equipped with a 5/8-tt-UNC-2A threaded stud.

C T Junction Box The ERMCO Components, Inc., CT junction box provides a means to make external connections to current transformer leads when CT's are internally mounted within a power transformer. Features: Designed for operation under oil Lead attachment uses only standard tools Has 21 connection terminals Rugged cast aluminum housing eliminates the need for painting Drip Guard The Drip Guard for bayonet fuse assemblies prevents the dripping of transformer insulating fluids onto the rubber molded terminators or cables. Note the positive latching mechanism which prevents accidental removal.

Dry-well Fuseholders for Currentlimiting Fuses The ECI dry-well fuseholder provides a method of placing dead-front type current-limiting fuses within the transformer. ERMCO Components' dry-well fuseholder design is suited to both single- and three-phase padmount applications. With the addition of the loadbreak function, the fuseholder provides an economical combination current-limiting fuse and loadbreak switch. The design provides the benefit of easy hotstick operability to a single fuse. Loadbreak fuseholders for padmounted transformers are available at 8.3 and 15.2 kv (125 kv BIL). A special loadbreak design is available with parallel fuses for high current applications. Non-loadbreak fuseholders for padmounted transformer applications are available at 8.3, 15.2, and 21.1 kv (125 kv BIL), both standard and submersible construction. A 21.1 kv (150 kv BIL) rating is available in standard construction only. Under Oil Arrester Disconnect Switch The ECI arrester disconnect switch provides a means of performing electrical t ti f di t ib ti t f th t i d ith i t l d il

testing of distribution transformers that are equipped with internal under oil lightning arresters. The arrester disconnect switch must be open before dielectric testing of the transformer to prevent misleading results and possible arrester damage. To open the switch, unscrew the pipe plug, pull the plug out to the stop to disconnect the arrester ground. Reverse the procedure to close the switch. This switch is for testing the transformer. It is a de-energized switch only. Bayonet Fuse Links Two types of fuse elements are available; a FAULT SENSING fuse (catalog numbers 9F54MFC---) and a LOAD SENSING fuse (catalog numbers 9F54LFC-- -). The fault sensing fuse is current sensitive and will isolate the transformer from the system in case of a fault. The load sensing fuse is sensitive to both current and oil temperature and will protect against overloads as well as faults. Isolation Link The ECI Isolation Link is used in a series with bayonet type expulsion fuses to provide extra protection during re-fusing operations. They are coordinated to operate at currents that exceed the one-shot rating of the expulsion fuse used in pad or vault type transformers. The isolation link will melt during transformer failure so the opened primary circuit of a failed transformer cannot be re-energized by the line crew. Low Voltage Distribution Arrester The LVDA Light Duty Distribution Class surge arrester is designed and tested in accordance with ANSI/IEEE C62.11 requirements. The LVDA is designed for protection at the distribution transformer 120/240 VAC secondary bushings. Various IEEE and industry studies have determined that impulse voltages from lightning and other sources can enter the transformer secondary and cause extensive damage. Such surges are typically beyond the energy handling capability of Secondary Class Surge Arresters.

Low Voltage Breaker Operating Detail The new Operating Detail with integral light eliminates the need for a second hole in the transformer tank wall to accommodate the overload indicating light. Tap Changer Switch The ERMCO Components, Inc. externally operated single phase, under oil tap changer switch for distribution transformers. The tap changer switch cap is removed and reversed to make the cap an operating wrench. The cap-wrench is equipped with a key, preventing removal until the switching operation is complete. An indicating arm kit with locking plate and screw is available if conversion from the cap-wrench is desirable. Features: Designed for operation under oil L d tt h t l t d d t l

SURE MAKE separable connector high voltage bushing well is designed for the termination of primary leads in oil filled devices such as padmounted transformers. The bushing well mating interface conforms to the ANSI/IEEE Std. 386 for Separable Insulated Connectors and will accept switch modules (bushing well inserts) complying with the Standard. Design Features: Insulated body is molded of a polyester formulation designed for excellent electrical and mechanical properties. The ground shield coating is oil resistant. The removable stud version is tin plated for corrosion resistance and ease of removal. o Use a 5/35" Allen wrench to replace stud, and torque to 100 inch lbs. Ratings: Maximum Continuous Line to Ground Voltage 15.2 kv RMS Continuous Current 200 AMP RMS Basic Impulse Level 125 kv Crest

200 AMP, 35 kv Class 3Ø Rated Integrated Bushing The ERMCO Components, Inc. SURE MAKE separable connector 200 amp, 35 kv Class Three Ø Rated Loadbreak Integrated Bushing meets all requirements of ANSI/IEEE Std. 386 - Separable Insulated Connector Systems, and combines the advantages of reliable one-piece design with the operating features required for underground distribution switching. The bushing is designed for padmounted transformers, switchgear and other apparatus filled with transformer oil. Design Features: Insulating body is molded of an epoxy formulation designed for excellent electrical and mechanical properties. The ground shield coating is oil resistant. The coating covers from the elbow cuff mating surface and extends 0.50 inch beyond the sealing gasket through the tank wall.
