Clickbank. The website where affiliates and vendors have earned over One billion dollars. They have over 12,000 digital products, and over 100,000 active affiliate marketers. Clickbank isn't a pretty site... or even an easy to use site. With its messy layout, and hard to understand search results... it's still one of the most popular websites in the world. In this ebook, I ll show you the basics of Clickbank, to hopefully help you get started. Signing up - When you first go to Clickbank.com, you'll see this page. If you want to sell other people's products... you'll choose Affiliate. Click the Sign Up link.
Fill out this form: and click the Submit button at the bottom. Note: The nickname you choose will be the "ClickBank ID" for your account. It will be visible to the customer every time we sell one of your products, and will appear on the memo line when we send you a check. Keep in mind that the nickname cannot be changed once your account has been opened. Once that's completed, you'll see the next page:
You'll wait for the email with the subject line, Confirmation Code. There's a link in this email that you'll need to click, and it will take you to a page that asks for the confirmation code. Click the Finish button. Then, your signup will be complete! They'll give you your nickname, and password, and a link to login. You'll need to remember it! Logging in -
Just use your nickname and password from the previous page to login. If you forgot already, click the Forgot your password? link. Here's where you'll see bunches of stuff. The first section is your Weekly Sales Snapshot. And, your Daily Sales,
Then, information about the pay periods. Account Settings - The account settings tab is where you can change your personal information, contact information, and payment threshold.
Click the Edit button to change your personal information. The earnings amount at which you would like Clickbank to send you a check is the Payment Threshold. You can sent it at $10, or $100,000, or many points in between. Reporting - In the reporting tab, you'll find out about your income, and hits to your hoplinks. You'll see your paychecks here. Clickbank pays every 2 weeks... but there are certain criteria you must meet before you'll receive your first paycheck. Here's what they say about payments. Getting Paid - Obviously, the goal of being an affiliate is to get paid for your efforts. To receive your first commission payment, there are two requirements:
1. You must reach your payment threshold, which you set in your Account Settings. 2. You must meet the Customer Distribution Requirement. For more details about these requirements, please see our Accounting Policy. Once you ve met these two requirements, you can start receiving payments. For more details about ClickBank s payment schedule see Paychecks. If you re located in an eligible country, once you ve received three paper checks from ClickBank within a 12-week time period, you can start receiving payment via direct deposit. Once you become eligible for direct deposit, you can specify this as your payment method in Account Settings->Payment Information. If you are not within a country supported by direct deposit you may be eligible to receive wire payments. Transactions - Clickbank will show you the name and email address, when they purchased, the invoice number, and the vendor of the product. Subscriptions - Anyone who has purchased a product with recurring payments, you'll see here.
Analytics - And then my favorite, analytics. This will show you all the hits to your hoplinks in the last 2 weeks. This chart shows you exactly what products were shown to the potential buyers.
Help Center - This page will give you all the answers you need, to the many intricate parts of Clickbank. From What is an affiliate? to Closing your account. Here's the page where you can find these answers. http://www.clickbank.com/help/ How to sell Clickbank Products - When you click the Marketplace tab... you'll see this. Type in a keyword, like Affiliate Marketing
You'll immediately see hundreds of entries. Let's break down what all those numbers mean. $/sale is the commission you could make on the sale. Future $ - is the recurring commission, if this is a subscription product. Total $/sale - For one-time purchases, this number is the same as $/sale. For recurring billing products, it equals the average total of the initial sale plus all rebills, divided by the number of initial sales. To put it simply, for every new purchase of this product, this amount is the average you d make in total over the life of the new customer. However, this is just an average; this amount is not guaranteed. %/sale how much percentage you earn from each sale. %refd - This is the percentage of sales that were referred by affiliates. This can give you an indication of how popular a product is with affiliates, and how competitive it might be to promote it. grav - Short for Gravity, this number represents a unique calculation by ClickBank that takes into account the number of different affiliates who earned a commission by promoting this product over the past 8 weeks. Since more recent transactions are given a higher value, this number can give you an idea of what products are hot at the moment, in terms of being promoted by many affiliates and making a good number of sales. However, high gravity can also indicate
that there will be a lot of competition in promoting this product. Create Hoplink - A Hoplink is your affiliate link. Click the Create Hoplink link, and you'll see this: Then you'll see your new link. That big long link is what you would use... the http://f289... They've encrypted it so no one can take your username away when they
purchase. This process of searching can get very confusing, but it's doable. You can search for niches you know about... find a product, create a blog around it, build a list of people interested in that niche... the possibilities go on and on. I use Clickbank products in my emails series... First I find a free ebook to give away... to intice people to sign up to my list. From there, I offer them products related to the ebook they said they were interested in. All of those are from Clickbank. A product that I use to help me find products is Affiliate Elite. It's a comprehensive search tool.. that puts all the products in perspective for you. And.. at $4.95 for the first 30 days... it's worth it to try out. When you first open up Affiliate Elite, you'll see this: Click OK
You'll automatically see the top selling Clickbank products. On the side, are the search boxes.
For instance, I could find a free ebook about Twitter, give it away to people who wanted to join my list, and then tell them about other Twitter items in my emails. I search for Twitter... and come up with 85 entries! In the box below, you can see the sales page,
The Popularity Rankings of the product. The gravity...
How much money is earned per sale. The percentage of commissions. And then, a table with all the information.
It will also allow you to open the sales page in your browser, or create your hoplink. Right click on the product name, to see your options. When you choose Create Clickbank Link you'll see Click Generate to make your Hoplink.
Now, this is unencrypted. It's really not likely that people will steal your commissions by changing your username, like so many products claim. However, if you're still leery, and you have your own domain, I've written a short report on redirecting your links, that you can download here. So, Affiliate Elite is a program that will help you compare data on all the products, and even check out the sales pages, so you can make the best decision on which products to promote. A site that has all of this done for you, is Daily Niche Idea. Cindy's gathered articles and Clickbank products for over a year, with a new niche idea each week. At Daily Niche Idea, you can search for the things you're interested in, download articles, and grab Clickbank products to sell.
For instance... here's a look at the inside... The download contains PLR rights to the ebook, the ebook itself that you can change in anyway, even put your name on it! You could also build a blog, and use the ebook for your articles.
Every week, Cindy gives you all the information you need, plus a tutorial on how to set up your new niche. Jon Olson calls it a no brainer! One last (but not least) Clickbank charged program is Clickbank Pirate. Now, this is a pay to join program, but what an awesome program It is. What happens is.. you pick one of the products they have available. There are a lot of promo tools to use, including a squeeze page. You drive traffic to the squeeze page, and they collect the leads for you. They manage and monetize the list... all sales go directly to your Clickbank account. Can you imagine having Soren Jordansen email for you? Just keep getting signups, and watch the commissions roll in to your Clickbank account! Conclusion - Yes... I've told you about several different directions you can take when it comes to promoting and making money with Clickbank. The best way to do it, in my opinion, is to build a list of subscribers, and let them know about the products through your email series. Using Traffic Exchanges is a great way to build your list. Here are 4 Traffic Exchanges I use every day, to add people to my lists. BootScootinTraffic Soaring4Traffic NexusExchange MaxTrafficPro If you don't know how to build a list, All About My First List is a program that will help you get one going in 10 days! (or less!) Thanks for your time! Sunny Suggs!
