2 1 Use Forums Find forums online where people write about topics related to your business. First, set up a free account at to use for this process. Then look on and identify a few forums in your market. Back this up with a few searches. Register with each forum use your new Gmail address. Read through the latest posts and form a picture of what is important to people on the forum. Examine the most popular threads and posts particularly. Create a free PDF report not unlike the one you're reading now (which was created with the free OpenOffice.org software.) If you prefer create a video, screencast, mp3 interview or any other content. Your content should be useful valuable even to the people on that forum. Make sure it contains genuinely useful information, and a link back to your website. Upload the report to your website. Sign up for an autoresponder service with - either the free service or the basic US$ a-month service. Create a new campaign, customise your signup confirmation message with the wizard and create your first scheduled message, to be sent immediately upon signup. In this first message, welcome the person to your list, and include a link to the free report they requested. Set up the second message in the sequence to send a day or 2 later. In this message ask them if they have downloaded and read the report yet. Include another link to it. Mention how your product or service also solves a

3 similar problem no hard sell. Just a link back to your website. Write as many follow-ups as you have time for now. Maybe do the first fortnight (3 or 4 messages max? That depends on your market and your gut feel for how many is too many,) and you can always add more in the next 2 weeks. Add a squeeze page to your website. Here's how to get through your MOT! 5 Questions to Ask Your Hairdresser Sells the benefit of your free report in a couple of bullets. Ideally this is where you can show how it will help them to make money, save money, save time, feel safer, healthier or more attractive in some way. Contains an signup form (as provided by GetResponse, but with the link to their site removed!) Here's a good one: Yours doesn't have to be this complex though. Create your forum signature for each forum make it something like: NEW report shows how to stop your dog from barking at last: Free for a limited time. Get your copy now!

4 Go back to each forum Take part in posts particularly the busier ones. Start your own post with a subject line that is bound to get people to read it - ( here's how to save money when you sell house - from a conveyancing solicitor perhaps.) Don't post the same thing on more then one forum. Crossposting will get you banned quickly. As you post and answer posts, people will see your signature link. They will go to your site, give you their name and and download your report. Now you can them whenever you'd like to. 5 2 Get a Blog Even better, get 2! Signup for free blogs at and Make posts related to your market and customer's interests. Don't make them the same for each blog! Posting regular original content to blogs is a pain. You can outsource posts for as little as $2 per post - to professional writers with English as a first language at this service: If you want to host your own blog on your own site, be sure to use Wordpress! 7 3 Use Web 2.0 Properties This one's quick and pretty easy. Open accounts at Squidoo.com and HubPages.com Bag pages with keywords related to your industry. You want something as related as you can get: is a nice example, but rolex_denver or flower_bouquets_clapham might have been just as useful. Post content which you have at least re-written from your other web properties (your blogs.) Don't copy your content or anyone elses outright. Bulk out the content using the RSS tools these sites provide. Enter the feed URL from your blog(s) now these web 2.0 sites are showing your blog's RSS feed! Add as much content as you can! Place links in your content back to your site, your blog(s) and even direct to your squeeze page as appropriate. Get a button for your Blog Create as many accounts with the different Web 2.0 bookmarking sites as you can be bothered with or have someone else do this for you! Bookmark your Hubs and Squidoo lens - and your blog posts while you're at it - on as many of the Web 2.0 bookmarking sites as possible. Now these sites will start sending you leads too and you can them when you like, until they unsubscribe. Hint: If you have friends with their own web sites, bookmark their sites too. Then you can ask them to go to the same Web 2.0 bookmarking sites and return the favour with yours!

8 4 Write Articles By now you've written or got someone else to write - a fair amount about your market. When it comes to generating leads on the web, quality content is always king. You can never have enough relevant high-quality content. If you can muster any more of it up, post to article directories there are 100s of them. Make sure your article follows the rules. Some directories don't allow affiliate links. Some don't like any links except in the author's bio. In any case, use your author's bio spot to make a clear call-to-action: Visit this site for the last *real* secret to grooming your dog to a Crufts-winning standard: You can outsource either article creation, article distribution or both. Now people who read your articles will be tempted back to your squeeze page and will sign up for your list. You can them when you like, until they unsubscribe.

9 5 Get Others To Give Away Your Reports You already wrote a PDF report (or created some content in another media,) in stage 1. Either re-write the report you have, or do another one. Include in it links to some products which are genuinely useful things to mention, but also have affiliate programs. You can find affiliate programs at sites like: You can also find lots of products to promote at ClickBank: ClickBank is particularly handy because it will take you and everyone else - all of 2 minutes to sign up. When your report is re-written, ideally it will: Still be really valuable to your target audience Still link to your web site Contain affiliate links to a number of relevant high quality products and services which provide decent commission. Ideally one or more of the products mentioned should provide recurring revenue. Now add something at the bottom of your report that says this: Make Money With This Report You can make significant recurring commissions on quality products just by giving away this report. 10 report with their affiliate links. Then whenever they give it away they could make money on any one of the products and services promoted or mentioned in the report.
