Henry Ford Health System Employee Portal Frequent Asked Questions Last Updated 3/10/2014 Access Disclaimer: This document assumes that you already have an ID to access the Henry Ford Health System (HFHS) network. If you do not have a HFHS user ID or your ID is lacking the needed access to sign-in to a particular portal, you will need to contact the Henry Ford Health System IT Service Desk at 248-853-4900. General Disclaimer: Some of these steps are done assuming you have Administrator access to your local desktop. If you don t, please engage your local IT support organization to assist with these troubleshooting steps. General Questions & Answers: I received a You are not allowed to sign in. Please contact your administrator error and I have a valid HFHS user ID, what can I do to fix this? o Please call the HFHS IT Help Desk at 248-853-4900 and validate that your HFHS user ID is part of the PortalUsers active directory user group. When connected to the Employee Portal, I m not able to print to my local printer. Why is this not working? o At this time, printing is not allowed while you are connected to the Henry Ford Health System network. o We are working towards a solution we can allow this type of traffic in the near future.

I ve tried to go to https://employeeportal.hfhs.org on my ipad or Android tablet, but I m not able to sign in. Why does this not work? o Connecting to the Employee Portal on a tablet device does not work via the web browser. In order to connect with an ipad or Android tablet, you will need to go to either the itunes store (for Apple devices) or the Google Play store (for Android tablets) and download the latest Citrix Receiver and Junos Pulse clients o Once you have these clients installed, you can configure the Junos Pulse client to connect to https://employeeportal.hfhs.org o Once you have successfully authenticated, then you can launch a web browser and go to https://henryapps.hfhs.org and login to lunch any of the Citrix applications via the Citrix receiver app.

Windows Specific Questions & Answers: I see that Junos Pulse is trying to install in my Internet Explorer web browser, but it keeps failing. Is there anything I can do? o You can try to add the Henry Ford Health System domains to Internet Explorer s trusted sites. To do this please follow these steps: Go to Tools drop down menu in Internet Explorer and select Internet Options Go to the Security tab and select the Sites button

Once there add both *.hfhs.org and *.henryfordphysicianconnect.com Then click close on Trusted Sites box

Next go to the Privacy tab and then click on the Settings button in the Pop-up blocker section.

Once in the Pop-up Blocker Settings, add both *.hfhs.org and *.henryfordphysicianconnect.com to the Allowed sites list. Once complete, click close on the Pop-up Blocker Settings and then click the ok button in the Internet Options area. Once you are back to the Internet Explorer web browser, you can try to access https://employeeportal.hfhs.org again. After I connect to the Employee Portal with Junos Pulse, I m being prompted for proxy settings in Internet explorer, why is this happening? o If you get prompted by the HFHS proxy server to authenticate, please use your regular HFHS ID in the following format corp\hfhs_user_id (for example: corp\auser1) and your HFHS password. o If this does not work, or if you are having issues, please call and open a ticket with the IT Help Desk at 248-853-4900.

I have an issue where Junos Pulse installs, appears to be in a loop of trying to connect, but never actually connects. Can this be fixed? o This is an issue where the Junos Pulse client is unable to create a virtual network adapter which is required for remote access. We have seen this issue on Windows XP and Windows Vista operating systems so far. We have fixed the issue by using the following steps. If you have this problem and have Apple itunes installed, you can uninstall the Bonjour client and the Junos Pulse application. Once both of these are uninstalled, you can then reconnect to the portal. After authenticating to the portal, Junos Pulse should reinstall and successfully connect to HFHS.

I have Internet Explorer 11 installed, and once I ve connected to Junos Pulse, I m not able to use the Internet, can this be fixed? o This is a known issue that HFHS is working on with both Juniper and Microsoft and a fix should be available soon. In the meantime, you can follow these steps in order to get access: (These steps must be done after you have successfully connected to Junos Pulse) Go to Tools drop down menu in Internet Explorer and select Internet Options Go to the Connections tab and click on the Lan Settings button

Next you should see a Lan Settings menu that shows a file://... type proxy setting. If this is what you see, check the Automatically detect settings check box and then click the ok button. Then click on the Ok button in the Internet Options menu. Once you are back to Internet Explorer 11, you should be able to open new tabs and Internet Explorer windows and access the Internet successfully.
