5 th International Workshop on Osteoarthritis Imaging Salzburg, Austria. June 8-11, 2011 From Joint Anatomy to Clinical Outcomes in OA and Cartilage Repair

Local Organizers: Felix Eckstein, Andrea Studnicka, Rosemarie Forstner, Siegfried Trattnig, Frank Roemer. Scientific Program Committee: Gillian Hawker, Mika Nieminen, Siegfried Trattnig, David Hunter Rationale The primary goals of the proposed workshop are: 1. to revisit human joint anatomy and to relate state of the art imaging biomarkers to human joint anatomy 2. to promote discussion and cross fertilization between junior and senior investigators, method developers (radiologists, physicists, software and other engineers, imaging scientists, image analysis experts), method users (epidemiologists, rheumatologists, orthopaedic researchers and surgeons, physical and occupational therapists, medical device manufacturers, pharmaceutical industry) and regulatory agencies in context of imaging biomarkers of osteoarthritis. 3. to present/discuss recent data on the relationship of cartilage repair to imaging biomarkers and clinical outcomes 4. to present and discuss the most recent data and concepts on the relationship of imaging biomarkers and clinical outcomes in osteoarthritis (OA) Venue The meeting will take place on the campus of the Paracelsus Medical University in Salzburg, Austria, located in walking distance from the city center of Salzburg and from all larger and smaller hotels in Salzburg. Additionally, budget accommodation will be available to young investigators in Freilassing, which has a direct bus connection to PMU. Coffee breaks, lunches and dinners will be organized at the University in a way that the attendees will be able to spend the entire day together and so that breaks between sessions are used optimally for interaction and discussion. The precourse will take place in the two anatomy dissection labs of PMU, oral presentations will be given at the PMU lecture hall, and the poster session will be hosted in the PMU library. Deadlines Any time January 2011 March 15 th, 2011 April 30 th, 2011 June 8 th, 2011 Send your E-mail address to helga.leidinger@pmu.ac.at to receive updates on the conference Webpage up and registration open End of early pre-registration: 390 * attendant / 140 * student Abstract Submission End of pre-registration: 540 * attendant / 240 * student Onsite registration: 690 * attendant / 340 * student *Registration fees include: a) Admission to all sessions of the conference, lunches on June 8th, 9th and 10 th, and the Conference dinner June 9 th.
