Providing of training in treatment planning, interventions, documenting, and associated clinical skills, techniques, knowledge, and professional behaviors. Creating, revising, and presenting course content through a variety of educational media in collaboration with a full-time SCF faculty mentor. Providing Fieldwork I and II clinical experiences as a Fieldwork Educator. September 2005 to December 2006: Manatee Springs Care and Rehab of Bradenton. Staff Occupational Therapist in a subacute geriatric rehab. Clinical Fieldwork Coordinator and Instructor. March 2005 to September 2005: Physiotherapy Associates of Bradenton. Staff Occupational Therapist serving clients with upper extremity orthopedic conditions including hand therapy and splinting, post surgical shoulder repairs of the rotator cuff, shoulder replacement, carpal tunnel, and lateral epicondylitis. August 1996 to March 2005: Sundance Rehabilitation at the Woods of Manatee Springs of Bradenton. Served in the capacity as Staff and Lead Supervisor of Occupational Therapy. Provided the assessment and treatment of Orthopedic, Neurological, and Cardiopulmonary patients in a subacute rehab, long term care and outpatient setting. Subacute experience also includes working in stroke rehab, total knee, hip, and shoulder replacement patients, amputees, post surgical cardiac patients, ventilator patients, pulmonary disease sufferers, and people receiving kidney dialysis. Interventions with patients with Alzheimer s disease and other cognitive impairments.
5 Experience in long term care includes wheelchair positioning, contracture management, self-feeding adaptation, management of falls and urinary incontinence, with family and staff education and training. Outpatient experience includes stroke rehab, spinal cord, and head injured patients, and upper extremity orthopedics including upper arm, forearm, and wrist fractures, and management of arthritic conditions through adaptive device training for activities of daily living. Administrative experience includes staff and patient treatment scheduling, assisting with the assessment of productivity and staffing needs, participation in facility quality assurance and quality improvement teams, Documentation audits and staff training. Providing educational in-services for rehab and nursing staff. Creating informational newsletters, and coordinating the Rehab Graduate promotional program for patients who successfully complete their therapy programs Other experience includes performing home evaluations, aquatic therapy treatments, feeding evaluation, splinting and orthotics, providing treatment using electrical stimulation, short wave diathermy, and therapeutic ultrasound.
