ExpErience After graduating as a commercial engineer from the KU Leuven, Steven Simoens went to the University of York (UK) to pursue a MSc in Health Economics. Since then, he has been studying pharmaco-economics, and in particular the sustainability of generics medicines markets. After doing research at the University of Aberdeen, he moved on to the OECD, before joining the Research Centre for Pharmaceutical Care and Pharmaco-economics at his Alma Mater, the KU Leuven. There, alongside teaching, he has been conducting research on the economics of generic medicines. ROGER VERBEECK Therapeutic equivalence and Narrow Therapeutic Index (NTI) Professor of Pharmacology - Ecole de Pharmacie - UCL ExpErience Roger Verbeeck left Belgium after obtaining his PhD in Pharmacy at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven to pursue a post-doctoral education at the Vanderbilt Univertsity School of Medecine in Nashville (USA). He then stayed in the United States and became professor at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Saskatchewan (Canada), before coming back to Belgium to teach at the Université Catholique de Louvain. He has also worked as an expert for the belgian Federal Agency for Medicines and Health Products, where he has worked on the evaluation of bioequivalence studies. He is also a visiting professor at the Rhodes University (South Africa). Dr Verbeeck published more than 13à articles in internationally renowned scientific journals.
