HIGHER EDUCATION PATHWAYS @ POLYTECHNIC WEST Each higher education provider has a different credit system where students need a certain number of credit points to be eligible for their selected course. Agreements between TAFE Institutes and the universities specify the credits that a student will receive on transfer from a Diploma, Advanced Diploma or Associate Degree to a Degree course. This credit transfer may reduce the duration and the cost of the degree program. Polytechnic West also has internal credit agreements between selected Diplomas and Advanced Diplomas to related Associate Degrees. To gain the equivalent of one year of advanced standing, you need the following credit points: > Polytechnic West = 24 credit points (8 units) > Curtin University = 200 credit points > Edith Cowan University (ECU) = 120 credit points TAFE Qualification Higher Education Provider Higher Education Qualification Credit Points SVP FASHION + MULTIMEDIA LMT60307 Advanced Diploma of Applied Fashion Design & Technology Polytechnic West Associate Degree of Fashion Business 24 Curtin Bachelor of Arts (Fashion) 100-300 Associate Degree of Fashion Business (H405) Curtin Bachelor of Arts (Fashion) 100-300 Curtin Bachelor of Commerce 300 LMT50307 Diploma of Applied Fashion Design & Technology (W391) Curtin Bachelor of Arts (Fashion) 100-200 AVIATION H400 Associate Degree of Aviation (Aeronautics) ECU Bachelor of Science (Aviation) 180 ECU Bachelor of Aviation 120 H401 Associate Degree of Aviation (Operations Management) ECU Bachelor of Science (Aviation) 150 ECU Bachelor of Aviation 90 13

Make sure that you can meet the entry requirements of your chosen course before you proceed to the next step in the application process. 3. Submit your Application You can apply to study at a TAFE Institute by completing your application online at www.eti.wa.edu.au/apply. You can apply directly to ETI or you can apply through one of ETI s approved education agents. You pay the same fees whether you apply directly to us or through one of ETI's education agents. Many students choose to apply directly, especially as they can use this guide and the ETI website to find all the information they need and submit their applications online. Other students choose to use education agents to assist them in preparing and submitting their study and visa applications. If you do not already have an agent, you can find an approved ETI agent on our website: www.eti.wa.edu.au/find-an-education-agent. Application + Acceptance Deadlines Deadlines for submitting applications to Education + Training International (ETI) for admission to TAFE courses depend on the assessment level countries students are applying from and whether or not students are applying on or offshore. Level 3 offshore applications should apply early for places, as visa processing can take more time. Students should also be aware that there are deadlines for accepting offers and making fee payment. Confirmation of Enrolments (CoEs) will not be issued after the cut-off date, this is to ensure that students leave a reasonable time to get their visa and arrive in time for orientation and the start of classes. Visit the website for information on important dates and deadlines: www.eti.wa.edu.au. 24 www.eti.wa.edu.au/polytechnicwest

APPLICATION PROCEDURE continued Receive your Letter of Offer Once we have received your application and supporting documentation, we will assess your eligibility to study your selected course(s). If eligible and there are places available we will send you a 'Letter of Offer'.
