Box 9723 Fax: (225) 771-5262 Baton Rouge, LA 70813 E-mail: ashagre_yigletu@subr.edu Education B.A. Economics, University of Novi Sad, 1967 M.A. Economics (International Economics focus), Belgrade University, 1970 Ph.D. Economic Sciences, (International Economics focus), Belgrade University, 1972 Administrative Experience 1989-1991: With the rank of Deputy Prime Minister responsible for Social Affairs represented the Government of Ethiopia in several rounds of conflict resolution talks held in Athens, Atlanta, London, Nairobi and Rome with opposition forces. 1976-1991 Participated in several economic, trade and peace negotiations. 1984-1989 Represented the government of Ethiopia at different international forums in the area of international economic relations. 1982-1984 with the rank of a Minister established and administered the Ethiopian Nationalities Institute in Addis Ababa. 1980-1982 Served as the Ethiopian Ambassador to Bulgaria, Hungary and Rumania - stationed in Sofia. 1977-1980 Represented the Ethiopian Government in negotiation with EEC ACP (European Economic Community African, Caribbean and Pacific Countries) Brussels, Belgium 1978-1979 Served as the Chair of African Trade Ministers 1976-1980 represented Ethiopia in the 3 rd, 4 th, and 5 th Conferences of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD). 1976-1977 Served as the spokesperson and chairman for Sub-Saharan African Ministers of trade at the Group 77 meetings in Addis Ababa, Nairobi and the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development held in Manila, Philippines. 1
1975-1980: Represented Ethiopia in trade negotiations at the International Coffee Organization s in London, UK. 1975-1976 Served as Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism of Ethiopia administered and directed public and private businesses, industries and tourist organizations. 1972-1976 Served as lead expert for export and investment promotion in the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Tourism. Academic Experience August 2006 present serve as Associate Dean and MBA Director. Taught Principles of Economics, Intermediate Macroeconomics, International Economics, Money and Banking, Public finance 1991-present. Developed SUBR COB Strategic Plans 2006 2011 and 2012 2017 In collaboration with the SU Law Center developed JD/MBA dual degree program Letter Intent in 2008-2009 academic year. Developed new elective MBA courses Human Resources Management MGMT 585, Project Management MGMT 587, in 2007-08 and 2009-2010 academic years Developed the SU MBA Program Five Year Plan for the period 2007-2012. 2006-present - played significant role in the establishment of and coordination of the SU MBA National Board of Advisors.
