3 Document Purpose This Document is to Guide users to access Outlook Web App (OWA), Download software from Microsoft Online Portal, Installation & Configuration of Lync Client and Configuring Microsoft Outlook. Pre-Requisites for Using O365 Mailbox To get the full Office 365 experience, we recommend that User meet our system prerequisites. Operating system requirements (Any of the OS Mentioned below is supported) Windows 8 Windows 7 Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard), 10.6 (Snow Leopard), 10.7 (Lion), 10.8 (Mountain Lion) Support Ending o Windows Server 2003 on January 1, 2013 o Windows XP on January 1, 2014 (currently requires SP3) o Windows Vista on January 1, 2014 (currently requires SP2) Office client requirements (Any of the Version of Office mentioned below is supported) Office 2010 SP1 o Service Pack 1 must be deployed by June 1, 2012 Office 2007 SP2 Office 2011 for Mac and Outlook 2011 for Mac Outlook 2003 via POP and IMAP only o Get additional information about connecting to Office 365 via POP/IMAP and Outlook 2003..NET 2.0 or later Lync 2010 Support Ending o Office 2008 for Mac on April 9, 2013 o Entourage 2008 Web Services Edition on April 9, 2013 o Outlook 2003 on April 8, 2014 Browser requirements Administration Center and My Company Portal Internet Explorer 8 or above Latest Firefox Release version Safari 5 or above Latest Chrome Stable version Support Ending o Internet Explorer 7 on October 1, 2012 o Safari 4 on October 1, 2012
4 Note: Outlook Web App also has a light version that supports a reduced set of features across almost any browser Note for Mac users: At this time Communicator for Mac 2011 will not work with Office 365. See FAQ for additional information about Mac-related system requirements.
5 1. Access Emails through Outlook Web App (OWA) 1. Start Internet Explorer Go To https://webmail.iimb.ernet.in and click on Office 365 Users button
6 2. Give your credentials (Alias Name) e.g. IIMBNT\vishalv12 to login. 3. Select language and UTC+5:30 as the preferred Time Zone.
7 4. Webmail Page will come as shown below:
8 2. Accessing Microsoft Online Portal & Download Required Software & Patch 1. Browser To https://portal.microsoftonline.com Sign In with your Credentials type your login ID (Alias) E.g. vishalv12@iimb.ernet.in and then click the pointed arrow. 2. In the next Page login with your Credentials (alias name) E.g. IIMBNT\vishalv12 and your password.
9 3. You are in your Home Page, you need to download your Lync Client from the Pointed Arrow.
10 4. Download and Install Lync Setup.exe. Choose 32 bit/64 bit according to the OS. 5. Install Setup Lync.exe from the downloaded path as follows.
11 3. Installing Lync 2010 Client 6. Once Lync setup is complete, go to second Step and click set up to configure your
12 desktop for Office 365. 7. On the Pop Up window click on Run, this will start the download of Setup.exe
13 8. In Office 365 Portal login page Login with your credentials (Alias Name). E.g. vishalv12@iimb.ernet.in and password.
14 9. In the login Page enter your Credentials (Alias Name) E.g. IIMBNT\vishalv12. 10. Now the setup will start inspecting your System Configuration.
15 11. Setup will ask for updates that are to be installed. Select the program and click Continue. 12. Click Accept so as to agree Microsoft License terms and Agreements.
16 13. Wait for the updates to finish configuring the system. 14. Once updates is completed click finish..

18 4. Logging in to Lync Client 1. Start Lync Login with your Credentials type your Alias Name, E.g. vishalv12@iimb.ernet.in and click Sign in and type password.
19 2. After successful login you can find users from find contact search bar.
20 5. Configuring Outlook 2010 for Office 365 Mailbox Restart your outlook mail client to get the new configuration automatically after installing the above mentioned softwares. Outlook shall fetch all the configuration details automatically. Configure Outlook for New Profile (only required for new users or if automatic configuration doesn t work for migrated users) 1. Click Start Control Panel. 2. On Control Panel Double Click Mail Icon.
21 3. Click Show Profiles. 4. Click Add.
22 5. Enter The Profile Name- User Name Then Click Ok. 6. In Add a New E-Mail Account Page Type Your Name and E-Mail Address, E.g. vishal.vivek@iimb.ernet.in Password then Click Next.
23 7. In the Windows Authentication Page provide your Credentials (Alias Name), E.g. vishalv12@iimb.ernet.in along with password and click OK. This page may open up 2-3 times. You have to provide your Alias Name and Password as the Credentials.
24 8. Then Click Finish to exit the Setup. *** Click yes and continue if you get any certificate warning message (error) or close and recreate New Profile.
25 9. Start and open your Outlook and select newly created profile. 10. Type your Password and click Ok. The user name is your alias name. E.g. vishalv12@iimb.ernet.in.
26 11. Your Mail will download from server it will take several time to download your mails.
27 6. Configuring Mozilla Thunderbird for Office 365 Mailbox. 1. In Thunderbird Mail go to Local Folders Accounts View Settings for this account.
28 2. In Account Actions drop down list Add Mail Account.
29 3. Enter your Name, E-Mail Address, E.g. vishal.vivek@iimb.ernet.in & Password as the Credentials, also check the remember password checkbox. Then click Continue.
30 4. Now the Thunderbird E-Mail client will start checking the configuration of the Mailbox.
31 5. Once the Manual Configuration page comes, provide the Server Details as shown in the below screenshots.
32 6. To find out the server details, go to https://webmail.iimb.ernet.in. Enter your credentials and login to your Outlook Online and go to Options See All Options.
33 7. Under Account My Account, Click on Settings for POP, IMAP and SMTP access
34 8. You will get a Server Protocol Settings Page.
35 9. Enter all the protocol settings. Once done click Re-Test. Once the server is probed successfully you will get a notification as shown below. Click on Done to finish the configurations.
36 10. On completing the above steps you will be able to access mails via Mozilla Thunderbird. 11. To subscribe to all the folders right click on user@iimb.ernet.in Subscribe.
37 12. Select all the items Click on Subscribe and click OK.
38 13. To replicate the Address Book right click Toolbar Tick Menu Bar. This will show up the Menu Bar.
39 14. Right Click Tools Address Book.
40 15. In the Address Book page go to File New LDAP Directory.
41 16. In the General tab, enter the details as shown below. Name: Any Name for your Address Book. Hostname: 192.168.103.14 Base DN: dc=iimb,dc=ernet,dc=in Port number: 3268 Bind DN: Your User Name. 17. In the Advanced tab, enter the details as shown below;
42 Don t Return More than: 1000 Results Scope: Subtree Search Filter: (objectclass=*) Login Method: Simple 18. In the Offline tab, click on Download Now to download the address book for offline use.
43 19. Provide your Domain Password here and tick the Remember Password checkbox to remember the password for later use. 20. Once completed you can search for contacts in the search box provided.
44 7. Configuring Android Devices for Office 365 Mailbox. 1. Tap on Apps from the Main Menu. 2. Tap on the default E-mail App.
45 3. Enter your Credentials (E-mail Address, E.g. vishal.vivek@iimb.ernet.in & Password) and Tap on Done. 4. Select Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync as the Account Type.
46 5. Tap on Edit Details to enter the details manually. 6. Provide your Credentials (Alias Name & Password) & let the Server name to be m.outlook.com. Eg: vishalv12@iimb.ernet.in
47 7. Tick the checkbox Use Secure Connection (SSL) and Tap on Next. 8. Tap on OK in the Remote Security Administration Page.
48 9. Select all the items that are to be synced, set download settings and click on Next.
49 10. Once the Processing is over click on Activate to Activate Device Administrator.
50 11. Provide a Name for your E-Mail account, which is optional and tap on Done.
