Understanding People and Making a Difference If you re interested in making a difference, our College of Behavioral Sciences is the place to go. The College is known for the caliber of our experienced faculty* as well as our curriculum s scholar practitioner focus. *Credentials and experience levels vary by faculty and instructors. Counseling Everyday People Our programs in the area of Counseling teach you how to work with everyday people who have everyday problems. Whether it s teaching how to help someone cope with a loss or divorce, or a drug addiction or job transition, our focus is on the grassroots level.

Today, the degree programs offered in College of Behavioral Sciences place an emphasis on what s current and relevant and the professional caliber of our practitioner faculty remains unchanged. The programs can ground you, not only in the theoretical and clinical knowledge pertinent to your chosen field, but also in the realities and challenges of clinical practice today. What s more, you ll have the opportunity to learn the interpersonal skills so critical for all practitioners from observation, active listening and assessment to interaction, intervention and evaluation from some of the psychology community s leading professionals. Students can show mastery of the curriculum through a combination of coursework, training and internships. All of the degree programs are highly interactive, with lots of opportunities for contact with faculty and fellow students and lots of support for your personal and professional development. We offer a wide variety of programs from which to choose the particular course of study that speaks most directly and personally to you.

MA in Clinical Psychology (Seattle and Twin Cities* locations only) Whether you want to prepare for a career as a mental health practitioner at the master s level or lay the foundation for more advanced study our Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology is for you. Integrating applied theory with field experience, it provides an education in both the theoretical background and the clinical knowledge and skills vital to functioning effectively within a mental health team. This degree program is designed to introduce students to basic clinical skills that enable you to serve the mental health needs of diverse client populations. *The MA in Clinical Psychology program is offered at other Argosy University locations under the College of Clinical Psychology.

Psychology BA in Psychology This program can enhance your effectiveness in any number of careers where an understanding of human behavior is key. You can use it to prepare for an entry-level job in areas ranging from counseling and case management to human resource administration and management. Or you can use it as a springboard into graduate study. And if you ve already begun your studies elsewhere, some Argosy University campuses offer a degree completion option as well. Designed for adult students, both the four-year and degree completion programs have a flexible format combining online, blended and inresidence classes. MA in Counseling Psychology Our Counseling Psychology program can prepare you for eventual practice by teaching you a range of theory and techniques relevant to the three major areas of counseling psychology. The remedial (helping to remedy real-life problems).the preventive (anticipating and sidestepping future difficulties). And the educational and developmental (discovering and developing human potential). Throughout, we ll focus on assets, strengths and positive mental health; relatively brief interventions; the person-to-environment context of interactions; and educational development. MA in Forensic Psychology Whether you want to get your foot in the door or you re already working in forensic psychology and want to advance this program is for you. Coursework gives you a theoretical and practical foundation that can be applied to the specialization of your choice: law enforcement, legal or organizational consulting, or program analysis. Graduates will learn how to prepare to work with the forensic population and to supervise staff in this area.

MA in Industrial Organizational Psychology This program prepares students for careers in areas such as compensation, training, data analysis, consultation, statistical decision making, organizational development, leadership, and human resource management positions. The curriculum is competency-based, focusing on the outcomes of training and on the knowledge, skills, and behavior necessary to function as a Master s level professional in IO Psychology. MA in Sport-Exercise Psychology Coaching athletes to reach their optimum performance combines knowledge of kinesthetics, psychology and sports. This program brings it all together. It s designed to give you a foundation in applied sport psychology; a basic understanding of normal and abnormal psychological functioning; and a grounding in the physiological and psychosocial aspects of sport performance. EdD in Counseling Psychology This program builds upon the same basic curriculum as our MA in Counseling Psychology: integrating more supervision and coursework and advanced practice. If you re already a counselor and are interested in moving into a position as a leader, supervisor, trainer or teacher within the field, this program is excellent preparation.

EdD in Pastoral Community Counseling Take advantage of this rich opportunity for personal and professional development. The integrated curriculum is designed to prepare religious leaders to address a range of issues surrounding individual and communal development: ethically and responsibly. If you re a minister, priest or rabbi, this program is for you. And if you re a lay leader (such as a counselor, nurse practitioner or military or prison chaplain) and your faith or spirituality is the cornerstone of your practice this program is for you, too. MS in Human Services Here is a program designed for individuals already employed in the human services field who wish to advance or those who plan to change careers to the human services professions. This program can prepare students to work in public and private human services agencies and organizations such as mental health centers, guidance centers, mental hospitals, alcohol and drug treatment centers, and correctional institutions.
