3 Degree Programs for Military Professionals and their Families As a Yellow Ribbon school, Grand Canyon University offers classes at our Phoenix campus, through our unique evening programs, and online. Our online programs allow you to study at the times and places you choose so you can continue your education no matter where you re stationed. Online With the demands put on military professionals, online education has become a popular way to earn a college degree. An online education allows you to attend class on your own schedule, from the comfort of your own home or wherever you re stationed. At GCU, we understand that military professionals maintain a busy schedule, yet many aspire to attain a higher level of education for personal fulfillment or to qualify for promotions or pay increases. GCU stands apart from the other online education institutions because we are backed by the history of our traditional campus. Evening Degree Programs In response to our students diverse needs, GCU is now offering selected degree programs in an evening format. These programs are designed to meet the needs of today s military professionals as they balance their work and personal lives with the desire to earn a degree. With programs that meet just one evening per week, students can conveniently integrate advancing their education with maintaining their career. Many of the programs will be offered on the main GCU campus, located in the heart of Phoenix, Arizona. For students who live or work a distance away, selected programs will be offered at strategic off-site or satellite locations throughout the greater Phoenix metro area as well as other areas. Traditional Campus Located in the heart of Phoenix, GCU is home to nearly 8,500 students who live and commute to our 115-acre oasis. GCU continues to expand in incredible ways and has completed a more than $300 million campus expansion project. Most recently, GCU s flourishing campus has seen the debut of a Student Recreation Center with a state-of-the-art athletic training facility, new student union, a classroom facility and offices for the College of Education, and a classroom and lab facility for the College of Arts and Sciences and College of Theology. An additional student dining center opened in 2011, complete with a 6-lane bowling alley called Thunder Alley, and a club-like Christian music venue known as Thunderground. Arguably the main attraction of the campus expansion is the 5,000-seat Grand Canyon University Arena, home to the men s and women s basketball teams as well as the host of other sports events, concerts and entertainment events. GCU currently offers 22 NCAA Division I athletic teams. Dan Majerle was named GCU men s basketball coach Spring He played 14 years in the NBA and was named to three All-Star teams.
