Kaiser Permanente Garfield Specialty Center Tenant Improvements San Diego, California Kaiser Permanente Swinerton Builders gkkworks Hope-Amundson was retained by Kaiser Permanente to provide the structural engineering services for this tenant improvement project. The improvements within the first four levels of Building 1, an existing 150,000 square foot, six-story steel framed building, included a new elevator, new rooftop mounted Air-Handler Units and a Pharmacy area. In addition, free-standing CMU screen walls, an Emergency Generator and Boilers and Trash Compactor unit were part of the improvements. Founded in 1945, Kaiser Permanente is the nation s largest not-for-profit health plan, serving 9.1 million members, with headquarters in Oakland, California. 209039.10 H-A2009

Kaiser Permanente Carmel Valley Medical Office Building Del Mar, California Kaiser Permanente DPR Construction, Inc. s Hanna Gabriel Wells Hope-Amundson provided the structural engineering services for this new medical office building. The site has been entitled to accommodate up to 125,000 square feet of medical office space within a two-story building and a three-story building. Building 1 consists of a two-story, 50,000 square foot outpatient medical building housing twenty primary care offices and ten specialty care services, including cardiology, dermatology, radiology and neurology. A future phase will consist of a threestory, 75,000 square foot medical office building. Building 1 construction consisted of steel framing with the proprietary SidePlate Steel Moment Frame system providing lateral resistance. Due to the terrain of the site, a series of site retaining walls was required. Kaiser Carmel Valley medical office building serves more than 157,000 residents in the North County, making it the latest in a steady stream of healthcare construction projects in the region. 211035.00 H-A2011

Kaiser Permanente San Marcos Outpatient Medical Center San Marcos, California Kaiser Permanente Rudolph & Sletten (Buildings 2 & 3) Swinerton Builders (Building 4) Milo ure Group (Buildings 2 & 3) HMC s (Building 4) Hope-Amundson provided the structural engineering services for Phases 2 and 3 of the Outpatient Medical Center located in San Marcos. The 250,000 square foot second phase consisted of two steel framed buildings. The Outpatient Medical Center is considered unique by offering more services than a typical medical office facility, but less than a hospital. An entry lobby is centrally located and interconnects the second phase buildings with the first phase. Building 4 includes outpatient facilities and clinics. Construction consisted of steel framing with the proprietary ConXtech system lateral-resisting moment frames. In addition, a free-standing structure storing an oxygen tank farm along with an emergency generator is sited northeast of Building 4. 210062.00/202025.00 H-A2010

Scripps Radiation Therapy Center San Diego, California Scripps Health DPR Construction, Inc. FreemanWhite Hope-Amundson provided the structural engineering services for this medical treatment center. The two-story design-build structure consists of an Outpatient Treatment Center with laboratories and three Linear Accelerator (LINAC) rooms. These room require special design considerations, including concrete walls up to eight feet thick and roof slabs up to four feet thick. The lateral system consists of steel moment frames for the upper roof area. The Second Level is supported laterally with load bearing concrete shear walls. Perimeter basement walls also act as load bearing shear walls. Scripps Health is a $2.5 billion private, nonprofit integrated health system based in San Diego, California that is ranked among the top 15 health systems in the nation. Kilroy Scripps Clinic Medical Office Building San Diego, California Kilroy Realty Corporation Reno Contracting Pacific Cornerstone s Hope-Amundson was retained by the architect to provide the structural engineering services for a new 146,000 square foot, six-story, steel framed medical office building, located at the Innovation Corporate Center in San Diego. The 150,000 square foot clinic includes an outpatient surgery center and recovery bays, a fully digital radiology department, MRI facilities, general surgery and organ transplant services as well as an expanded urgent care center and a sports medicine unit. The project was developed by Kilroy Realty Corportion, who owns, operates, develops and acquires Class A suburban office and industrial real estate in Southern California. 205106.00 H-A2005

Scripps Mercy Hospital Central Energy Plant San Diego, California Scripps Health Swinerton Builders Mascari Warner s Hope-Amundson was retained by exp. to provide the structural engineering services for a new replacement Central Energy Plant at the Scripps Mercy Hospital in San Diego. The Central Energy Plant building provides complete services to the existing hospital, including expansion capabilities for a new hospital tower of 480,000 square feet. The scope included upgrading the existing chiller plant, the Thermal Energy Storage System (TES), and the air compressors and boilers. In addition, the Tank Farm will require upgrading. Construction documents required OSHPD review and approval. Scripps Health is a $2.5 billion private, nonprofit integrated health system based in San Diego, California that is ranked among the top 15 health systems in the nation. Scripps Mercy Hospital Surgery Pavilion and Outpatient Surgical Center San Diego, California Scripps Health Harmon Contracting Raymond Fox & Associates Hope-Amundson provided the structural engineering services for the Scripps Mercy Surgery Pavilion Seismic Retrofit project and the Outpatient Surgical Center Tenant Improvement project, both located at 550 Washington Street and Fifth Avenue in San Diego. A seismic retrofit of the existing 9-story tower was designed in accordance with FEMA requirements. Areas requiring seismic repair and strengthening were reinforced with carbon fiber composite material. In addition, an existing one-story Outpatient Surgical Center to the east of the tower was renovated and expanded, providing an additional 10,000 square feet. The Surgery Center provides four multifunctional operating rooms, associated pre-operative and acute recovery space, medical offices, and necessary support functions. The Surgery Pavilion is a joint venture among 21 physicians and Scripps Mercy Hospital. It has met strict health care guidelines issued by the Department of Health Licensing and Certifications and the Independent Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. 203018.00 H-A2003

Corona South Main Medical Plaza Office Building Corona, California Huffman Builders West Raymond Fox & Associates Hope-Amundson provided the structural engineering services for this medical office building located near the intersection of South Main and Ontario in Corona, California. The facility consists of a two-story, approximately 35,000 square foot medical office building, consisting of concrete tilt-up construction. The floor framing consists of concrete fill over metal deck over steel members and the roof framing consists of a wood panelized system spanning between steel members. The building is occupied by a variety of independent owners consisting of doctors, dentists, attorneys and other professionals. 205136.00 H-A2005

Los Coches Medical Office Building Carlsbad, California C. W. Clark, Inc. Reno Contracting Nadel s A three-story, 34,000 square foot steel moment frame medical office building located in the Los Coches Village shopping center in Carlsbad. The two upper levels are comprised of office space, along with 11,300 square feet of subterranean parking below. The building was constructed with a steel frame, castellated beams and metal floor decking, topped with lightweight concrete. C.W.
