2 The Beolink 1000 remote control gives access to all the primary functions in a Bang & Olufsen system, including audio and video products and special functions such as light control. This User s guide gives a general introduction into the use of Beolink 1000 in connection with any compatible Bang & Olufsen audio video product. 4 B E O L I N K 1 0 0 0 Principles of operation The Beolink 1000 remote control integrates remote operation of your Bang & Olufsen products. TV SAT LIGHT LINK RADIO CD Daily operations are carried out directly via the Beolink 1000 by pressing a single button, by pressing a few buttons in a logical and straightfward sequence. V.TAPE MENU RECORD SHIFT A.TAPE PHONO The me advanced functions are also carried out from the Beolink 1000 remote control but operation of such functions may be guided by on-screen menus on a video product. D A I L Y O P E R A T I O N S 5 Using your audio video system with Beolink 1000 You can use the Beolink 1000 remote control to switch on any video audio sources. Switching on video sources Press to switch on to TV TV Via Beolink 1000, you can search f specific tracks* on your audio video tapes on your CD select program numbers f TV, SAT RADIO. Alternatively, use the wind buttons to search through audio video tapes search through a CD in a single CD player. If you are able to recd audio video sources, you can instruct an audio videotape recder to recd the program you are currently listening to watching via Beolink 1000. Press to switch on to Satellite Press to switch on the video tape recder Switching on audio sources Press to switch on the radio Press to start playing a CD Press to start the audio tape recder Press to start the recd player SAT V.TAPE RADIO CD A.TAPE PHONO When you press STOP once, you stop playback on an audio tape and pause playback on a video tape a CD. To stop playback entirely on a video tape, you must press STOP again press the standby button to switch the system to standby. Press to step between program numbers tracks on audio video tape on a CD Use the number keys to select program numbers tracks 0 through to 9 *Note: To search f tracks on a video tape, you must preset your video system via its Setup menu, please refer to the User s guide f the respective system f further instructions. Note: To switch on a CDV player, press SHIFT SAT and operate as usual. Press to search backwards on an audio video tape on a single CD player Press to search fward on an audio video tape on a single CD player To recd a current source Press to twice to start recding RECORD RECORD Press to pause stop STOP Press to resume playing Press to switch the system to standby PLAY

6 U S I N G O T H E R F U N C T I O N S V.TAPE GO TO 2 1 5 STOP Press to start playing a tape Press to play the tape from a specific counter position f example 2:15 While the tape is playing Press to cue the tape fwards Press to cue the tape backwards Press to pause the tape Pressing plays the tape in slow motion, pressing plays the tape backwards in slow motion Searching on a Video tape If you have a Bang & Olufsen video tape recder, you can use the Beolink 1000 to control its functions. In addition to regular playback operations, you can search through the tape with a picture on the screen, search through the tape in slow motion search f specific counter positions, Time left Time used. Please refer to the video tape recder s own User s guide f further instruction To stop playback entirely STOP Press to stop playback entirely STOP SHIFT functions With V. TAPE as source SHIFT Press to change between sound PICTURE tracks available on a video tape With TV SAT as source SHIFT Press to change between the sound SOUND languages available f a programme With RADIO as source SHIFT Press to change from FM to AM SOUND With A. TAPE as source SHIFT Press to turn an audio tape over SOUND You can use the SHIFT button to call up special functions f both video and audio sources. You can change between the sound tracks on a video tape, change sound type (e.g. mono stereo) language f a program, change between Radio FM and AM band turn an audio tape over. Note: If your video system is equipped with a P-in-P module, press SHIFT PICTURE to move the small inserted picture from cner to cner.

7 Beolink 1000 and BeoLink setup If you have a BeoLink setup with audio and video products in different rooms and want to watch a decoded TV programme from your main room system on your link room TV, you must transfer this particular video source from the main room video system to your link room TV. Note: F further infmation about BeoLink, please contact your Bang & Olufsen dealer. Press to transfer a video source from a main room system to link room system To transfer TV Then operate the sources as usual via your Beolink 1000 LINK TV Note: If you have an integrated audio/video system, you can use the AV button to shift the sound control from the audio to the video system and vice versa. Light control If you have a Bang & Olufsen light Control several such light controls, you can control most household lights via your Beolink 1000. You can switch an individual lamp several lamps on off, adjust the light intensity programme light settings f a room. Press to be able to control the light Press to adjust the light intensity turn the lights up down Use the number keys to select the light picture you want LIGHT 0 through 9

8 S O U N D A N D P I C T U R E Adjusting sound and picture levels Adjust volume at any time Press to raise the volume MUTE Press to lower the volume Press to mute the speakers Press again to demute the speakers Adjusting sound levels SOUND Press repeatedly to access volume, bass, treble, and loudness A cue appears on-screen on the display which infms you of the level you can now adjust On your video system, you can adjust sound as well as picture levels via Beolink 1000. You can adjust sound levels such as volume, bass, treble and loudness f your audio video system. F your video system, you can adjust the picture levels brilliance, col and contrast, in some instances additional levels may be available*. F further infmation about sound and picture adjustment, please refer to the respective User s guides f your audio video systems SOUND STORE STORE Press to raise the level Press to lower the level Press to ste the sound levels *Note: If your TV video system is mounted on a motised stand, pressing PICTURE once will display Stand instead of Brilliance on-screen and access a function which turns your TV. So in der to adjust brilliance, col and contrast, you have to press PICTURE two, three, and four times respectively. Adjusting picture levels PICTURE Press repeatedly to access brilliance col and contrast Note: If you wish to reset your sound and picture levels to their preset levels, press SHIFT, MUTE to do so. O N - S C R E E N M E N U S 9 Using on-screen menus Programming of your Bang & Olufsen video system and certain TV and VCR functions are operated via on-screen menus that you call up on the TV. These functions are all described in the User s guide and in the Setting-up guide f your Bang & Olufsen video system. Press to call up the main menu f the source you selected The main menu appears Press until the item/menu you want is highlighted Press to call up the menu MENU PLAY The menu in question appears Press to move the curs from item to item in the menu Press to reveal other options f the highlighted item Or Use the number keys to fill in infmation f the highlighted item 0 through 9 Press to ste the infmation you have entered PLAY Alternatively Press at any time to return to the previous menu without sting the infmation you have entered STOP Press a source button e.g. V.TAPE to remove the menus from the screen V.TAPE

The terms of the guarantee apply to the country of purchase but will be met by authized Bang & Olufsen dealers in other countries. The guarantee period applying to the country of purchase takes priity over guarantee periods applying in other countries, even where differences exist. In the design of our packing, we use the most conserving and recyclable materials known today, and we constantly wk to reduce any negative side effects our packing material may have on the environment.
