2. A LEARNING CENTERED ENVIRONMENT FOR THE 21ST CENTURY Grant funding via New Ventures Fund: 1. Promote Wonder and Innovation in Learning to groups of faculty within/across departments and/or Colleges for large scale and comprehensive curriculum redesign and reform. 2. RESEARCH, SCHOLARSHIP, AND CREATIVE ACTIVITY Writers Academy: 2013 present Institute on Health Policy and Practice which doubled research expenditures from 2010 to 2014 from $1.8M to $3.6M Institute on Disability increased research expenditures by 28% from $7.4M to $10.2M from 2010 to 2014. UNHM STEM Discovery Lab UNHM Manchester Undergraduate Project Support (MUPS) Grants MUPS is a competitive grant program intended to provide modest institutional support to assist in undergraduate research activities. Cooperative Extension works collaboratively with NH Agricultural Experiment Station and the College of Life Sciences and Agriculture to establish research priorities, conduct practical research, and translate information into applied practices that enhance farm profits and protect natural resources. UNHCE and COLSA NH Lakes Lay Monitoring Program wins 2014 Engagement Scholarship/W.K. 4. LEVERAGING UNH'S INTELLECTUAL CAPITAL The Green Launching Pad (GLP) is a public and private sector initiative that enables local start ups to bring green solutions to market. PARTNER FOR LIFE: EXPANDING AND DEEPENING UNH'S STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIPS STEM Ambassadors Program A working collaboration between UNH Manchester and Comcast, STEM Connect Program New Hampshire Listens, UNH's statewide Social Venture Innovation Challenge (2013 current) NH Businesses for Social Responsibility offers free membership to UNH students who are members of Net Impact UNH 2,000 New Hampshire businesses worked directly with Cooperative Extension staff in dozens of industries ranging from fishing to high technology. In partnership with the NH Division of Forest and Lands, NH Fish and Game, the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service and US Forest Service, UNHCE held 59 professional development workshops in 2014 for NH foresters and loggers.
