Collection Development and Graduate Showcase Each design student will spend their final term developing and producing their graduating collection. Each graduate collection consists of eight complete outfits. Each collection is developed using industry standards and processes. Garment ideas are sketched and edited. Technical sketches and a full color catalogue including wholesale and retail pricing is produced. A production schedule is created with deadlines for pattern drafting and sewing. The final garments are produced. Each graduating collection is showcased in the MC College Graduate Fashion Show. In Edmonton, this exciting show has been the kick off to Western Canada Fashion Week for many years. In Winnipeg the show has been sold out each year since its inception. In both cities, the graduate fashion show garners important media and includes VIP guest like local designers, bloggers and fashionistas from the Edmonton and Winnipeg communities. Both shows are produced in full New York runway style.
