Welcome to Eastbourne Area Music Centre Area Music Centres (AMCs) support pupils who are already learning an instrument and provide opportunities to play in groups, bands and orchestras. There are choirs too, for those who love to sing. The Centres offer a fun and sociable environment where learning is accelerated with the support of expert tutors. A wide range of activities take place on Saturday mornings and weekday evenings after school, and concerts take place throughout the year so that our young musicians can grow in confidence and discover the thrill of live performance. Marcus Plant Area Manager, Eastbourne JOINING AN area MUSIC CENTRE What DOES IT COST? School age children are welcome to become members of our AMCs and access the groups, bands and choirs appropriate to their experience and age, together with tuition on their chosen instruments. They also have access to a great social atmosphere away from the pressures of the normal school day. The termly fee is 69.00. This allows pupils to join as many appropriate AMC activities as they wish. A 5.00 registration fee is payable for pupils not currently registered with East Sussex Music. Assistance with fees is available to families in receipt of certain benefits (please refer to the application form online for details). Applications should be made online at eastsussex.gov.uk/music 2

Please telephone Sally Morrish on 01273 336789 or email music@eastsussex.gov.uk Parents and carers of AMC pupils are welcome to observe lessons. The orchestra is also committed to performing new music, and frequently premiere new pieces written for the orchestra by local composers.
