CINE & FOOD FILM FESTIVAL RULES AND REGULATIONS Preamble The Wine & Flavours Film Festival intends to contribute to the discovery and the disclosure of new films and filmmakers in Portugal in the wine and gastronomy topic approach and, at the same time, to the promotion of Portuguese wines and traditional products. Article 1 (Objectives) The Wine & Flavours Film Festival aims to encourage the public exhibition of films which are not distributed nor displayed in the traditional cinema circuits in Portugal, especially in such a particular thematic as the gastronomy and wines. Article 2 (Dates) The Wine & Flavours Film Festival will be held from 28-31 January, 2015. Article 3 (Sections) 1. The sections of the festival that you may submit to are: Short Films International Competition: this competition includes Portuguese and international short films, is comprised of fiction, animation, documentary films between 2010 and 2014 and, in this context, an award is going to be given to the Best National Short Film and to the Best International Short Film.
Non Competitive International Exhibition of Feature films comprised of feature films between 2010 and 2014 which may be freely subscribed or invited to participate and which have had greater prominence in the international festivals. Article 4 (Submissions) 1. Submission to the International Competition is open to all the films that comply with the following conditions: - Fiction, animation, documentaries or experimental Short Films; - Display format: DVD, Blue Ray or mpg-4 video; - Made between 2010 and 2014 Article 5 (Subtitling) 1. All the selected films have to send to the festival copies with English subtitles (when they are Portuguese or not English) Article 6 (Jury) 1. The Short Films International Competition Jury is going to be made up from personalities of recognized merit in the cinema, oenology and gastronomy sectors and it is going to assign the following awards: Short Film Grand Award, Best Portuguese Short Film Award. 2. The jury may still assign honourable mentions when they are justified.
3. There may not be part of the jury any people who may have direct interest in the making and/or trade-in of the films presented in the competitions. Article 7 (Awards) 1. The awards to be attributed by the Jury of The Short Films International Competition are as follows: - Short Film Grand Prize, one night stay and dinner for two in a four or five star hotel related to wine and visit to a wine cellar in one of the wine growing regions in the country. - Best Portuguese Short Film Prize one night stay and dinner for two in a four or five star hotel (to be designated). Article 8 (Submission) 1. The submission must be made online on the blog created for the School Festival until 31st December 2014. 2. The accepted formats for viewing are: online viewing link (vimeo, youtube ou outro), dvd to be sent to: address of the school, Rua Saraiva de Carvalho, nº 41, 1269-099 Lisboa (Campo de Ourique) or by file transfer (wetransfer, dropbox, myairbridge or other) to the email: cinemaacopo@gmail.com, with English subtitles (if applicable) Article 9 (Selection) The official selection will be announced to all the candidates a month prior to the beginning of the festival. Article 10 (Return)
Every exhibited film should be staying until the end of the festival, and their return will be held after the festival closure. In some cases, depending on permission, it can be up to one month after the festival closure. Article 11 (Shipping) 1. The shipping costs of the dvd for selection will be supported by the participant who is submitting the film, as well as the eventual return of those materials. Article 12 (Publicity) The producer (and /or holder of the film exhibition rights in festivals) who has received awards in this festival will have to compromise to mention Wine & Flavours Film Festival, in every publicity, press /promotional material that is made after the award has been granted to the film. Article 13 (Acceptance) Participating in the festival presupposes the knowledge and acceptance of the whole content of the present regulation. Article 14 (Unspecified cases) The Board of the Festival will decide about all the unspecified cases of this regulation, according to the international rules of Film Festivals. Register your film!
