UCA CANTERBURY, 12-14 July (UCA006) For: Years 10 & 11. Suitable for students interested in photography and fine art. Pushing the boundaries of image making is something that is current and exciting. On this Summer School you ll be changing the way you think about photography and questioning what a photograph is. Looking at photography as a way of manipulating what we see and creating works of art that go against the grain of what we would expect. You ll explore ways of image capturing, leading you onto transforming your images by delving through a variety of techniques, disfiguring and altering the materiality of the photographic print to transform it from what we believe a photograph to be, to the many possibilities of what it can become. For: Year 10 & 11 students interested in fine art Join us as we delve into the past, present and future, exploring how artistic techniques have evolved over time and discovering new methods of creating unique pieces of artwork. You ll learn techniques from the past, such as traditional plaster casting, as well as exploring contemporary methods of making, such as artist books and fanzines. You ll also discover how these different techniques can be combined, contrasted and altered to build a portfolio of works that explore how we produce art today.
