x-vision x-vision PCDVR - PC based Digital Recording & Remote Viewing CCTV Systems TURNS A WINDOWS PC IN TO A HIGH RESOLUTION MULTIPLEXER & DIGITAL HARD DRIVE RECORDER WITH REMOTE VISION FOR UP TO 16 CCTV CAMERAS The x-vision PCDVR systems are designed for plug & play use in any compatible Windows PC, simply install the cards supplied in the PC, load the drivers and software supplied, plug in your cameras (not supplied), set up the required features & your PC has become one of the most powerful CCTV systems in the world. Available in a variety of formats from a simple 1 camera version with 15 fps recording right up to the top of the range 16 Camera version with 120 fps (frames per second) recording, the systems record at a higher frame rate & resolution than traditional non PC based CCTV systems, up to 4 channels of Audio can also be recorded. Remote Viewing allows other PC s to connect to the PC running the x-vision system via a network, or via a modem and analogue or digital telephone line, once connected the Remote PC can view live images of the cameras and play back recordings. The system is also compatible with ADSL (Broadband/Cable) lines, once connected to these the system will generate its own web page on the internet which will show live images & playback recordings of the cameras connected to it, this page can then be accessed from any Internet enabled PC in the world. Our new Pocket PC Remote Viewing software is now also included free, this allows you to remote view camera from a Pocket PC PDA with Internet Access.
Multiple Camera Views The x-vision PCDVR software is completely flexible when it comes to viewing your cameras. Each camera can be viewed individually or as a 4, 6, 8, 9, 10, 12 or 16 camera split screen view. All screen layouts can be viewed without the menu and background for true full screen monitor views. The software will also switch through all of the available camera inputs, one camera at a time or 4 cameras (quad) at a time. Digital Hard Drive Recorder/Multiplexer with 1/4/8/16 Camera Triplex Recording You can record up to 16 cameras at the same time without interuption while viewing live images of the cameras as a single, 4, 6, 8, 9, 10, 12 or 16 camera split screen view. While recording you can playback recordings made earlier without stopping the current recording. During Playback, recordings from the cameras can be viewed individually or as a split screen view. All recordings are made on to your Hard Drive and tagged with the camera name (which you can enter) and the time & date. The recordings are digitally stored on to the hard drive, so you can zoom in during playback, search and go to a specific time in the recording in seconds, and if you have a colour printer attached you can even print off an image from the recordings. Recordings can also be backed up on to floppy discs or CD. Digital storage also means that you can replay the recordings over and over again without any loss in picture quality and with a better picture quality than conventional VHS recordings. Intelligent Motion Detection with Masking & Email/Phone Call Alert To increase the recording time and reduce wasted recordings with no movement, the software can be set up to record only when movement occurs. The software analyses the camera picture and detects movement within it without the need for PIR movement sensors etc... Areas of the screen where movement is to be ignored (for example to comply with the Data Protection Act) can also be set. To reduce the chances of false alarms it is possible to specify the sensitivity of the motion detection function. Once movement has been detected by the software, as well as recording locally it can dial out to up to 3 different phones (if you have a compatible modem attached) and alert you of the fact that the software has detected movement, or alternatively send an email with images of the detection, notifying you that movement has been detected. If speakers are attached to the PC, it will also sound an alarm on them whenever movement is detected.
It is also possible to record events on an off site PC when movement occurs using the Central Monitoring Software and to trigger additional devices such as lights and alarms, call sales for further details of this optional feature. Remote Access via Telephone, Internet, LAN and Pocket PC PDA/Mobile Phone If you have received notification of movement being detected or you simply want to check on your premises while you are away, you can dial in to the software from a Windows PC or Laptop anywhere in the world and watch the cameras either individually or as a 1 to 16 camera split screen view. It is possible to set up individual passwords for each person who will be accessing the system remotely, each person can be granted access to all the cameras or a selection that you choose. The software is also compatible with ADSL (Broadband/Cable) lines, once connected to these the software will generate its own web page on the internet which will show live images and playback recordings of the cameras connected to it, this page can then be accessed from any internet enabled PC in the world. When connected to a LAN the software can record on to a networked PC s hard drive, and allow a networked PC to playback recordings or watch the cameras live. When the software is connected to an ADSL (Internet) line or on a LAN, you can also access live images of the cameras from a Pocket PC PDA device connected to the LAN or the Internet via a mobile phone. Category: b) Additional features Optional Audio Recording The PCDVR software can record sound digitally on to the hard drive from audio cameras. The 15 fps version does not support audio, the 30 fps version is available with 1 channel Audio recording, and the 120 fps with 4 channel Audio recording. Optional Pan Tilt Zoom Camera Control The PCDVR software supports control of pan tilt zoom cameras (requires the XVISPTZ - PTZ interface) both locally and remotely, via modem to modem or internet connections. Digital Watermark To ensure that the recordings made by the PCDVR software are secure all the recordings are individually dated and digitally watermarked. 15, 30 & 120 fps (frames per second) versions / Adjustable Frame Rate for Recording As well as a choice of camera capacity, the PCDVR system is also available with a choice of 3 different cards, which each have a different frame rate, 15, 30 and 120 fps, these rates relate to the number of images that are captured per second. The economy card offer a 15 fps capture rate which is 2x the images an equivalent time lapse video recorder/multiplexer based system would record, this is suitable for domestic properties and small business use, or for those on a budget. The standard card offers a 30 fps capture rate, which is 4x the images an equivalent time lapse video recorder/multiplexer based system would record, this is ideal for large domestic and small to medium sized business applications. The professional card records 120 fps which is 16x the images than an equivalent time lapse video recorder/multiplexer based CCTV system, and is recommended for use in high risk applications and large businesses. All the cardss offer better than SVHS recording quality. The number of cameras being used on the cards will also have some bearing as to which frame rate is required, since the maximum number of frames (images) the software can record is automatically divided
amongst the active cameras, for example on a 30 fps card, if 3 cameras detect movement and start recording at the same time the frame rate of the active cameras will be 10 fps each, on a 120 fps up to 12 cameras could record at the same time at a rate of 10 fps each. It is also possible to give cameras a High or Low priority, this will then apply more frames to High priority cameras at the expense of Low priority cameras. Timer Recording To further increase the recording time available on your hard drive and to ensure the software is only recording when you require it to. A weekly, monthly and yearly timer can be setup quickly and easily. Ease of Use & Security All the features of the software are quick and easy to set up via your mouse and keyboard. The software also incorporates a multi level password structure, which allows you to setup different level of access for different users, access to setup features, playback, individual cameras and remote access can be specified. Camera Compatibility The system is compatible with all industry standard CCTV cameras, B/W or Colour. Category: c) Technical Specifications/PC Requirements Remote Viewing Frame Rates The PCDVR system is designed to offer a maximum of 25 fps during remote viewing, however this is restricted by network & modem performance. The following rates are based on customer feedback and independent tests. Recording Times The following chart shows the amount of space required to store recordings at 320x240 resolution recording, the figures shown are estimations based on movement for 50% of the day, recording video only (audio recording will reduce recording times by half) actual times will vary according to how often the cameras detect movement and the quality and resolution settings, the number of cameras connected makes no difference to the storage space required. Once the Hard Drive is full the system will either warn you or automatically start re-recording over the previous recordings.
