Dear Parents and Guardians, YEARBOOK 2015 One of the best things about the last day of school is giving out the yearbooks and looking back at all the special moments over the last four years. As I look ahead to your child s successful completion of 8 th grade and middle school, I am already working on the 2014-2015 yearbook. The yearbook is a huge undertaking and I need two things from you at the very start of the school year. 1. An order form for both a yearbook and ads a. This form gives you the opportunity to order a yearbook for $40. Portraits will be taken on Tuesday, September 23, 2014. The portraits will automatically be in the yearbook, no purchase necessary. b. This form also gives you the opportunity to purchase additional space in the yearbook to celebrate your child s success. There are four types of ads, as explained below. i. Booster ads ($15 each): A booster ad is a short message to the graduating 8 th grader. Attached is a sample booster ad page. ii. Baby ads ($20 each): Baby ads are 1/8 of a page and a wonderful reminder of how much your child has grown. Attached is a sample baby ad page. iii. Half-page ads ($60 each): These ads must be made in Photoshop or other similar program and saved as.jpg images. They are usually a combination of text and photos. Attached are instructions. iv. Full-page ads ($90 each): Same as above, but a full page. 2. The second item that must be submitted on the first day of school is a check, payable to, for the yearbook and whatever ads you are purchasing. I begin working on the yearbook layout in September. Every student will be in the yearbook on the portrait pages. Any additional space in the yearbook must be reserved right away in order to be certain I have enough pages for everyone. Whether or not you are interested in purchasing a yearbook or ads, please complete the order form and return it (with a check, if applicable) to your child s advisor on the first day of school. The digital ads (or photographs and text you wish me to scan and put together in Photoshop) are due by Wednesday, October 29, 2014. Thank you for your support. Sincerely,, Yearbook Advisor 1
