Through our broad-based and innovative curricula, we aim at developing the full range of abilities of students and equipping them either for employment or for further studies in local or overseas universities. Articulation network with local universities and reputable universities from Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the United States has been established for students who plan to further their studies. Kowloon Tong Campus The College is well supported by the teaching facilities at Madam Chan Wu Wan Kwai School of Continuing Education Tower which consists of a gross floor area of 5,607m 2 (5/F to 12/F of the building) with multimedia equipped classrooms, a resource library, computer laboratories, a multimedia language laboratory, counseling rooms and offices for administrative staff. Students can also use other University facilities, including library, computer laboratories, sports facilities and student support services. Shek Mun (Shatin) Campus With a gross floor area of 30,000m 2, the new campus provides full university facilities including indoor swimming pool, gymnasium, auditorium, computing and multimedia laboratories, library, and cafeteria. Special facilities such as press conference room, communication studio, wellness promotion centre, environmental resource centre, psychology laboratory and multi-purpose science laboratories are set up to provide students with practical experiences in their areas of studies. Minimum Entry Requirements 1. Level 2 or above in five subjects (including Chinese Language and English Language) in HKDSE; OR 2. 1 pass in A-Level subject or 2 passes in AS-Level subjects in HKALE; and 3 passes in HKCEE plus Level 2 or above in Chinese Language and English Language (or 5 passes in HKCEE including Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in pre-2007 HKCEE); OR 3. Programme Structure The Programme is structured according to the HKBU overall structure of the four-year curriculum. It consists of 128 credit units with 38 units under General Education, 60 units under Major and 30 units under Electives. Upon graduation from the 2-year Higher Diploma in Early Childhood Education, students will be accepted to the 2-year Bachelor of Education(Honours) in Early Childhood Education. Alternatively, they could choose to exit the Programme with a Higher Diploma. Award and Recognition Students who have successfully completed the first two years of studies (73 units) will be awarded a Higher Diploma in Early Childhood Education. The Higher Diploma is recognized by the Education Bureau (EDB) as meeting the requirement for registration as teachers serving in kindergartens and kindergarten-cum-child care centres. Also students who have successfully completed the stipulated specialized courses at degree level will be recognized by SWD as having covered the training areas of the One-year In-Service Course in Special Child Care Work (SCCW) for special child care workers. Students who have successfully completed the four-year Programme and fulfilled all graduation requirements will be awarded the Bachelor of Education (Honours) in Early Childhood Education by the Hong Kong Baptist University. Medium of Instruction All lectures and tutorial sessions will be conducted mainly in English and supplemented with Chinese as appropriate. All practicum courses will be conducted in Cantonese in order to prepare students to work in local early childhood education settings. Course Venue Classes and examinations will be held at the Kowloon Tong Campus Centre. Tuition Fee The tuition fee is currently HK$133,955 for the 2-year Higher Diploma programme and HK$100,925 for the 2-year Bachelor programme. Commencement September 2013 Minimum Entry Requirements 1.
