Published article in August edition of Nurse Leader on best practices shared at the April conference. Expanded active participation and engagement in the Academic-Practice Partnership Online Community, which currently has over 2,000 members. The task force recommended that four nurse leaders be appointed to the AONE Board of Directors for a non-voting, one-year term. These appointed nurse leaders reflect ethnic/racial minority, gender diversity, early careerist, and a leader outside of the acute care setting. Four nurse leaders have been selected and appointed to the 2014 AONE Board.

After careful review, recommended to the Board of Directors the bylaws change to eliminate the at-large position. Recommended change will be voted on by the membership at the 2014 Annual Meeting.

Serve as the advisory committee in the planning for the 2014 Annual Meeting & Exposition in Orlando, Florida. Establish the theme for the 2015 AONE Annual Meeting & Exposition in Phoenix. Review and update the AONE education priorities by November, 2013. During a two-day planning meeting, used evaluations and feedback from the 2013 Annual Meeting & Exposition to provide input into the planning for the 2014 Annual Meeting & Exposition in Orlando, Florida, and generated theme ideas for the 2015 AONE Annual Meeting & Exposition in Phoenix. Served as abstract reviewers and presentation advisors for the 2014 Annual Meeting & Exposition in Orlando, Florida. Reviewed 2013 education priorities and provided input into 2014 priorities.

Worker fatigue will be incorporated into this document. A position statement was crafted to include the key components of health care worker safety. This statement concluded with eight recommendations for nurse leaders.

Finalize the international consortium of nursing leadership associations that will be explored at the ICN meeting in Australia in 2013. Committee members gave input on international nurse leaders who should be invited to the meeting that AONE convened at the ICN Congress on May 20, 2013 in Melbourne, Australia. AONE convened a very successful meeting of international nurse leaders at the ICN Congress in Melbourne. Over 40 nurse leaders attended the meeting that was led by Pamela Thompson, Michelle Janney and Cheryl Hoying.
