PiceaServices Quick Start Guide Page 3 1 PiceaServices installation Customer will be given a specific download URL to PiceaServices installer. Installation requires administrator rights The computer must be connected to internet during installation and usage. Before installation the language must be selected (language can be later changed from Menu: Tools > Settings...) Default installation folder is C:\ProgramData\Piceasoft\PiceaSwitch (Please note that the folder ProgramData is hidden by default) Depending on the computer and network speed the complete duration of the installation varies from 6 to 10 minutes (PiceaServices installation takes less than 1 minute; additionally the drivers installation takes from 5 to 10 minutes). The installer can be remotely started on multiple computers in different shops simultaneously by using a configuration tool (please contact support@piceasoft.com). The installer installs a service for "silent" driver installation.
PiceaServices Quick Start Guide Page 4 2 Activating PiceaServices Customers will receive an activation key. The expiry date agreed with Piceasoft will be shown. After filling in the Activation key and the Store identifier information, PiceaServices can be activated. It is important to write a descriptive Store identifier and address for customer specific reporting and statistics purposes.
PiceaServices Quick Start Guide Page 5 3 After the installation PiceaServices is ready to use. If only PiceaSwitch is activated, the home view is not displayed; PiceaSwitch opens directly. Connect the devices with USB cables and follow instructions on the display.
PiceaServices Quick Start Guide Page 6 4 PiceaSwitch in brief Preparation before content transfer: Connect devices with USB cables. Transfer direction is always from left to right Swap the source and target devices by double-clicking one of the device icons, or by clicking the button Swap devices It is possible to select/deselect the content type by clicking the content type icons The selected content types are highlighted in blue colour Start the content transfer by clicking the button Start transfer If the source device has a memory card inserted, it can be removed and placed into the target device. This will reduce transfer time and prevent duplicates.

The following link shows instructions for setting Developer mode and USB debugging mode for different Android releases: Configuring Android USB connectivity. PiceaServices Quick Start Guide Page 9 6 Overview: Device settings before content transfer 6.1 Android devices a) Turn on Developer options and USB debugging mode (as explained in Chapter 5): Android 4.2 ->: Keep tapping Build number in Settings > About phone > Software information > Build number until the pop-up note You are now a developer! id displayed. Then turn on Developer mode and USB debugging in Settings > More > Developer options > USB debugging. Android 3.x-4.1: Settings > Developer options > USB debugging. Android 2.x: Settings > Application settings > Development > USB debugging b) Connect the device and set USB connection type: Android 4.x ->: Set the Media Sync (MTP) mode on: Open Notification Panel by swiping down from top of the device display and choose USB connected and then Media device (MTP) Android 2.x-3.x: Set the USB mass storage on: Connect your device via the USB cable to your PC or laptop. Open Notification Panel by swiping down from top of the device display. Tap USB Connected and touch Connect Storage to PC c) Disable the device display lock and accept all requests on device UI 6.2 iphone/ipad Insert SIM card into target iphone Activate the phone Apple id not yet necessary Turn off the passcode from source iphone and don t create the passcode in target iphone Don t enable icloud sync before the transfer After connecting iphone with USB cable, answer Trust on iphone UI to question if you trust this computer 6.3 Windows Phone Transfer data from the Windows Phone: Connect your device to PC with a USB cable. (Please pay attention that for software versions of Windows Phone 7.5 and 7.8 there is no need to connect the cable, because computer does not recognize the devices. In this case only contacts can be transferred via Bluetooth). Check PC settings: Bluetooth devices need to be allowed to find and connect to PC. Turn on the Bluetooth connection in device: Settings > Bluetooth; leave the window open. To pair your device with the PC click the link Show me how in the PiceaSwitch pop-up note or click the link Add connection under the device icon.
PiceaServices Quick Start Guide Page 10 Select your device from the Bluetooth devices pop-up window. Pair your device to the PC and accept queries on the PC as well as on the Windows Phone. When data is read from the device, you can proceed with the transfer to Windows Phone. Contacts are transferred via Bluetooth connection, and the other contents via the USB cable. Transfer content to the Windows Phone: Connect your device to PC with a USB cable. When Windows Phone is a target device, sign in using the button Sign in to Microsoft account. If you don t have an account yet (e.g. Hotmail), you can create one following the link Sign up in the pop-up window. Transfer data to Windows Phone. Contacts and calendar are transferred to the Microsoft account and other data via the USB cable. After the transfer is completed go to Windows Phone Settings and open email + accounts. Add a Microsoft account to the settings and synchronize data with the device. 6.4 Nokia S40 and Symbian Use Nokia Suite (or Ovi Suite or PC Suite) mode: Settings > Connectivity > USB > Nokia Suite. But for e.g. Nokia 208, 301, 515: Use Modem mode 6.5 BlackBerry Connect the phone with USB cable and choose USB drive setting on the phone display 6.6 Other devices If PiceaSwitch does not already have a driver for new Android phone, the driver is generated automatically on Piceasoft server and distributed to all customers globally by automatic updates
