Grades starting on 15 October (Girls, Boys and Mixed B, and Hotshots Green) will be grading games. The Junior Subcommittee and clubs may perceive there is not a need for some of the B grades to have grading games at the meeting to finalise grades. Meeting to finalise grades: Club delegates will meet on Thursday 22 September, 6pm at Logan Park to finalise Junior Interclub grades. Thus team entries are due on Tuesday 20 September. 4

Bottom seeds playing for a lower team - The bottom seed in a two person team (number 2) is permitted to play for a team from the same club that is in their grade but is ranked lower in the points table, without the permission of Tennis Otago. Any other players must request dispensation from the Appeals Committee. c. Juniors can register to play in both Junior and Senior Interclub. Female Grade EMG 12 12 11 11 10 11 9 10 8 10 7 9 6 8 5 7 4 6 3 5 2 4 1 3 2. Entries a. All entry forms must include players and managers contact details (phone and email). b. Competition costs do not include entry to the Edgar Centre. c. Conditions of entry i. Players are expected to play the game in a sportsman like manner and accord respect to their own team-mates, the opposition, media, officials and spectators. In the unlikely event this doesn t occur, persons can make a complaint in regards to a player s behaviour to the Tennis Otago Junior Subcommittee. The Committee may hear the matter in any manner it considers appropriate, and may draw on supportive documents such as the TNZ Code of Conduct. ii. Players act responsibly in regards to safeguarding their health and safety of themselves, their opponents, spectators or the property they are playing at. Equally to inform venue owners should any hazards or substantial accidents/damage occur. 3. Draws a. Published i. In the Otago Daily Times every Thursday (except the first weeks draw which will be emailed due to tight time constraints). ii. On the Tennis Otago website www.tennisotago.org b. If a team is scheduled to play at the Edgar Centre they are not permitted to play at another venue. 7
c. Cancellations i. Cancellation decisions are made based on the MetService short term weather forecast. ii. If players are uncertain if Tennis is cancelled they can find out at www.otagocancel.co.nz or by subscribing to this website (emails free, texts incur a charge of 50c). iii. Edgar Centre matches are not included in any of the above cancellations, unless a Tennis Otago or Tennis Southern Event is on which requires the Edgar Centre. In which case this will be clearly communicated. Should an event move inside the Edgar Centre and interclub having completed 60mins of less of Tennis, the Edgar Centre will take a list of names and give a free entry for next entry. 4. Results a. Submitting Results i. Captains/managers are expected to electronically load scores into ConfigureRanking. Failure to comply will result in no team points or ConfigureRanking points. ii. Points awarded will be 1 point for each rubber won and 4 points for winning the tie. If two teams finish level on rubbers, the contest goes to a count back on sets; if these are level it will go to games, for which at this time if they are level 2 bonus points each will be allocated. For count backs, a 3 rd set deciding tie break counts as one set, and also as one game. b. Defaults i. Teams should do their best to prevent defaulting. In the case that a default is unavoidable, team captains/managers are to advise Tennis Otago by 12pm Friday. ii. Reschedule - Should a team be significantly (in the eyes of the Junior Subcommittee) impacted by another Tennis event (i.e. Quad Events), they can apply to the Junior Subcommittee for playing the game at another time. If approved by the Subcommittee the teams will have a week either side of the relevant date to play the match (at a mutually suitable time). iii. If matches are scheduled for the Edgar Centre these courts will be cancelled by Tennis Otago. iv. Failure to show A $20 penalty will be invoiced to the relevant club. v. Withdrawal If a team withdraws they still must pay the team entry fee. vi. Removal of a team - Where Tennis Otago feel it is in the interests of the Competition to remove a team from the Competition, they have the power to do so. This includes (but is not limited to) a team consistently defaulting or where no-shows are apparent. 5. Appeals Clubs/teams may apply for exceptions/dispensations by E-mailing the competition subcommittee at admin@tennisotago.org with appeals committee in the subject line. Clearly outline the request and reasons for it. Request should be made at least 48 hours before any match they are requesting a dispensation for. 6.
