Facilities: 136 Birkdale Road, this facility will start to emerge as an all important key feature for Birkdale residents over the next few months, wider consultation completed and there was a strong environment thread through that period... Birkdale Campus ( working name ) Stage two begins. Marlborough Hall, the Kaipatiki Local Board has agreed in principal to consider the redesign and use of this existing hall to a Youth Space. Has Budget yes, now the planning group move into the overview of the building, now we need you to have input into what you think it should look like. Resources: The 2014 edition of the Parent Pack is available, we went ahead and proceeded to design and reprint the resource, for Kaipatiki Parents and Caregivers, as we had not wanted to wait any longer than we have. Available at the office or make contact and we will send. Kaipatiki Explorer is also on the design table, for this next edition, and we hope to have this printed and distributed at the end of February. Kaipatiki Local Board Consultation: Consultation by the Kaipatiki Local Board; its that time again, where the KLB members will be out talking to you all, getting your feed back, and interests around their plan.

Organise a baby photo competition with friends or colleagues guess who the baby is! Host a potluck dinner, or have a street BBQ, with neighbours or friends/family and bring kai from different cultures. Gather some friends for a DVD evening; ask people to share a film they like. Smile at a stranger you may be surprised by the smile you get back! Find more opportunities for humour in the home by starting a family joke collection. Connect with the whenua; grab some mates and get into the great outdoors - go on a bush walk, go surfing or mountain bike riding. Take time to read your local newspaper or newsletter find out what s going on in your area, such as music or cultural performances, then organise a group outing. Have a family WIFI, TV and text free day and bring out the old board games you have you may be surprised at how much fun they still are!contact a friend you have not seen or spoken to for a while and talk, talk, talk!
Welcome Calliope is one of the oldest athletics clubs in Aotearoa, New Zealand. We are a family friendly club which offers, running, walking and athletics for people of all ages and abilities. Check out our pages for Athletics, Junior Athletics and Run Walk for more information. The Club Rooms are found at the Osborne Memorial Park (also known as "Birkenhead War Memorial Park") at the bottom of Mahara Ave across from the Birkenhead Leisure Centre. See the map below. We meet every Wednesday night at 6:15, with the run or walk beginning at 6:30. Calliope is also involved with a community 5 km run and walk based at the Northcote tavern in Queen St, Northcote. This takes place on Monday nights during daylight saving, with the walkers starting at 6.15pm and the runners 15 minutes later. Spot prizes are awarded and entry is by way of a gold coin donation, the monies donated to a group for graffiti removal. Kaipatiki Summer Series of Walks with Judy Barfoot.March 1 st 2pm Kendall Bay, Chatswood,/Chelsea Reserves. Parking area at Chelsea Sugar at bottom of Colonial Rd. Along the coastal walk (some new tracks) to Kendall Bay and back along Duck creek. The old "Swamp track" now has lots of wooden steps but this way up to Onetaunga Rd is optional if anybody doesn't like steps. About 2 hours.
