Kaipatiki update, on all things great. Facilities: 136 Birkdale Road, this facility will start to emerge as an all important key feature for Birkdale residents over the next few months, wider consultation completed and there was a strong environment thread through that period... Birkdale Campus ( working name ) Stage two begins. Marlborough Hall, the Kaipatiki Local Board has agreed in principal to consider the redesign and use of this existing hall to a Youth Space. Has Budget yes, now the planning group move into the overview of the building, now we need you to have input into what you think it should look like. Resources: The 2014 edition of the Parent Pack is available, we went ahead and proceeded to design and reprint the resource, for Kaipatiki Parents and Caregivers, as we had not wanted to wait any longer than we have. Available at the office or make contact and we will send. Kaipatiki Explorer is also on the design table, for this next edition, and we hope to have this printed and distributed at the end of February. Kaipatiki Local Board Consultation: Consultation by the Kaipatiki Local Board; its that time again, where the KLB members will be out talking to you all, getting your feed back, and interests around their plan.

You can connect in so many ways. Connect with the people around you, such as your whanau/family, friends, colleagues and neighbours. Connect at home, work, school, or in your local community. Think of these relationships as the cornerstone of your life and invest time in developing them. Building these connections will support and enrich you every day. Become involved in groups; join your local craft, sports, choir, hobby or book club and enjoying singing, sewing, playing a card game, visiting gardens or croquet on the lawn together. Organise a baby photo competition with friends or colleagues guess who the baby is! Host a potluck dinner, or have a street BBQ, with neighbours or friends/family and bring kai from different cultures. Gather some friends for a DVD evening; ask people to share a film they like. Smile at a stranger you may be surprised by the smile you get back! Find more opportunities for humour in the home by starting a family joke collection. Connect with the whenua; grab some mates and get into the great outdoors - go on a bush walk, go surfing or mountain bike riding. Take time to read your local newspaper or newsletter find out what s going on in your area, such as music or cultural performances, then organise a group outing. Have a family WIFI, TV and text free day and bring out the old board games you have you may be surprised at how much fun they still are!contact a friend you have not seen or spoken to for a while and talk, talk, talk!

Welcome Calliope is one of the oldest athletics clubs in Aotearoa, New Zealand. We are a family friendly club which offers, running, walking and athletics for people of all ages and abilities. We meet every Wednesday night at 6:15, with the run or walk beginning at 6:30. Calliope is also involved with a community 5 km run and walk based at the Northcote tavern in Queen St, Northcote. We own our mistakes, big ups to the team for getting onto it quickly and working as a team...negatives are not in our purse, but positive actions are.

We owe so much to Birkdale Panelbeaters, for many years now Glen has kept our vehicles in top shape to that can serve the community in all those events, activities etc. Thankyou Glen.
