Improvement of grip on any surface Friction coefficient measurements including classification Safe runways are a necessity for each airport Airports must ensure safe runways to grant safe landings. This is monitored by continuously taken measurements of the friction value. Landing aircrafts leave rubber on runways caused by acceleration of the aircraft tyres during touchdown. This rubber deposit creates a slippery runway during heavy rain and this may lead to dangerous landings (aquaplaning). RCS Contracting cleans runways only with water without adding chemicals or abrasives. The cleaning by means of ultra high pressure water is the smoothest method for rubber and paint removal without damaging the surface. The system ARC 1000 operates because of the installed nozzle configuration at nozzle speeds of more than 450 km / h, i.e. lowest stress for the treated surface of all available systems worldwide.

4 RCS ACTS WITH CONSIDERATION After the cleaning process by RCS Contracting the runway can be used immediately and unrestrictedly. Depending on the degree of soiling (thickness of rubber layer) the following average results per truck can be achieved: Ø 1,200 m²/ h Rubber removal Ø 2,500 m²/ h Increasing of friction coefficient Ø 6,000 m²/ h Cleaning of large-scale areas RCS Contracting cleans your runway at night when NO take-offs and landings take place. Therefore, only a limited time slot is feasible for the service work mostly between 11:00 pm and 05:00 am. 6 DEMARKING For outstanding results RCS Contracting uses a specially developed cleaning device which grants extraordinary performances: 300 400 m²/ h Thermoplastic lines 400 800 m²/ h Painted lines With the RCS system all parameters can be set individually according to the treatment requirements. The highly trained and skilled operators of RCS know how to set these parameters correctly to achieve the best possible line removal results with the lowest possible effect on the treated surface. The most important success in stripe removal pavement or road marking is to remove the markings from asphalt or concrete without inflicting damage to the surface. Traditionally, the markings are removed with grinders which use carbide or steel teeth and remove paint to the lowest level, causing grooving damages in average depths of 5 10 mm. The RCS Contracting system can remove fast and efficiently even the most durable pavement markings (e.g. thermoplastic lines) whether on roads or runways. The RCS system maintains the integrity of the surface and avoids any danger for motorists from grooving damage. 8 WELL FILTERED FOR A CLEAN ENVIRONMENT Nowadays disposal is expensive. Disposal of waste water and sludge is a very cost-intensive matter. RCS Contracting assists with an innovative system in order to safe your expenses. The ARC 1000 dumps the content of the waste water tank into a filter container. The container separates water and sludge. The water can be led into the public sewer network because it complies with the European regulations. The remaining rubber sludge is only a fraction of the original volume which helps to safe costs for dumping. According to official laboratory report this solid material can be discharged at any public waste dump. WATER RECYCLING Our recycling concept allows an additional filter process for the treated water (filtered to 6 micron) so it can be used again for the next cleaning circle, i.e. 100% water recycling. 12 THE SYSTEM The trucks are availability on short call because of several branches in the world. Rubber deposits on runways and residues of road markings are removed solely by water that is entirely withdrawn by suction. I.e. the runway can be used immediately and without and restriction after the system has left. 1 2 3 4 [ 1 ] The tank with the sound hood can be tipped 65. This allows an easy emptying of the waste water tank but also a simple access to all aggregates for maintenance matters. [ 2 ] Due to the hydraulic transmission the vehicle can be driven steplessly at any desired speed between 0.12 to 4.80 km/h during operation. 14 1 FRICTION TESTING WITH OR WITHOUT ICAO CLASSIFICATION RCS does friction measuring on your runway as an additional service. This can be a test before and after cleaning as well as an official ICAO classification. RCS performs this service with the Mu-Meter (supplied by the market leader DOUGLAS) which is loaded and transported in a special measuring and supporting van. The van is equipped with a complete inventory for all wear parts and a workshop. The customer receives test protocols in digital or printed form.
