mcf Ball Valve Overview Flow Control
MCF Ball Valve Overview The center of MCF modular three-piece valve construction, ISO 5211 type body configuration accommodates a wide choice of seats, seals, accessories and end pieces for almost every type of manual or automated application. Flow control advantages for both manual and automated valves include: Pressure loaded seats with low torque design to provide a consistent bi-directional, bubbletight seal. Fully encapsulated body seals to prevent leaks to atmosphere, while simultaneously allowing welding in-line without time-consuming and costly valve disassembly. Live loaded, anti-static stem packing assembly to automatically compensate for wear and thermal expansion and contraction. A precision machined, solid 316/316L stainless steel ball and blow-out proof bottom entry stem design combine to direct unrestricted flow, with maximum operating safety, through a 316L stainless or A105 carbon steel body. Fire-safe design is also available. ISO 5211 type bolt pattern and centering lip in the forged 316L stainless or A105 carbon steel center sections ensure alignment of bracket and actuator assembly. Matching ISO 5211 type bolt and centering pattern in the bracket allow quick installation of actuators. Secondary containment units with ISO 5211 configurations fit between valve pad and bracket assembly. ISO 5211 type centers retain one bolt removal (swing-out design) for in-line maintenance of internal component parts. Larger valves use a similar lift out feature. 1
ISO 5211 Type Center Section Precision machined solid 316L stainless steel ball with straight through design. Eliminates the possibility of plated material wearing thin or media turbulence causing restricted flow. Live loaded stem packing assembly with saddle type lock washer. Bellville washers automatically adjust for thermal expansion and contraction. Tab lock washer does not allow stem nuts to back off. Internal anti-static design. Utilizes glass filled graphite contact washers for applications including volatile or flammable applications. Pressure loaded PTFE seats. Low torque design gives a bubble-tight seal in bi-directional flow. Other materials available for specific media, high pressure and/or high temperature applications. (Optional cavity fillers available for all sizes.) Bottom entry stem. Precision fit 316L stainless steel design for maximum operating safety. Fully encapsulated seals - standard. Prevents leakage to atmosphere, or in vacuum service the environment to media. Allows welding in-line without disassembly. End pieces in 316L stainless steel or A105 carbon steel. Three piece construction eliminates the need for unions and allows complete versatility of optional end connections in NPT (Threaded), SWE (Socket Weld), BWE (Butt Weld) or Flanged (ANSI Class 150 or 300 raised face) configurations. Body Stainless steel or A105 carbon steel means strong body component integrity capable of withstanding the most severe operating conditions and/or hostile external environments. (Optional purge ports are available.) In-line maintenance. One bolt removal (swing out design) for simplified in-line maintenance of all internal parts. Single bolt removal also minimizes pipe twisting or distortion during maintenance. High Pressure Valves The square body (8) bolt designed high pressure valve manufactured in A 105 carbon steel or 316 / 316L stainless steel provides strength and performance in high pressure service up to 4000 PSI. This design reduces the potential of body seal leaks due to bolt stretching and piping system stress. A bottom entry stem design helps ensure safety. Pressure loaded seats provide contact between a precision machined ball and the seats preventing damage to the seats under high pressure. Pulp and Paper Power Food Processing Oil & Gas Tire Presses Injection Molding 2
Steam Valves Durable forged steel construction in A105 carbon steel or 316L stainless steel means strong body and end piece integrity capable of ratings to 350 psi saturated steam. Used ahead of stream traps in mains, branches and service lines, MCF steam valves protect against the disruptive loss of line pressure created by poor flow characteristics and/or external leaks commonly associated with other types of valves. Additional features include: Continuous cycling with maximum operating safety using MCF s precision fit (bottom entry) 316L stainless steel stem and floating stainless steel ball. Long seat life with pressure loaded high-temperature seats ensures a vapor tight seal in standard or high cycle applications. In-line maintenance using versatile three piece construction eliminates the need for unions. Chemicals Steel Pharmaceutical Textiles Food Processing Tire Presses Pulp and Paper Injection Molding Cryogenic Valves MCF cryogenic ball valves (-425 F [-254 C]) combine value and performance in a direct mount ISO type body configuration that includes: A solid (one piece) stainless steel stem to ensure ball rotation in high torque cryogenic service. There are no body welds or stem pins to break. Stem extensions and valve pads with matching ISO type machined surfaces maintain true stem alignment allowing actuators to be added with ease. A unidirectional valve, the ball seals on the down stream side, and a relief hole on the upstream side prevents cavity pressure buildup. Optional seat and seal combinations allow a wide choice of bubble-tight closure. Gas Separation Transport/Tank Trucks Aerospace Food Processing Testing & Loading Stations CIP (Clean In Place) Valves Clean-In-Place valves with purge ports for in-line cleaning are available in Steam, Micro-Clean and Tank Bottom configurations. Periodical use of this sanitizing feature as a supplement to routine maintenance programs saves both time and money. It s fast, efficient and reduces the amount of residue or contaminates that can accumulate in valves without purge ports. CIP valves incorporate many of the outstanding features and benefits which are standard in all MCF valve products. They include: self adjusting stem assembly, choice of seats, fully encapsulated body seals, and one bolt removal for in-line maintenance. A natural extension of our standard design, MCF Micro-Clean ball valves combine a corrosion resistant 316L stainless steel body with your choice of bubble-tight seat materials (PTFE, high temperature, etc.) fully encapsulated body seals (standard) and smooth bore end pieces (Kuick Connect or Tube Butt Weld). All wetted parts are meticulously machined and polished to BPE specifications. Manual or automated, MCF Micro-Clean ball valves provide fast, reliable, contaminate free, flow control in both 2-way and 3-way valve configurations. Micro-Clean valves are especially effective in high purity gases, fluids and vacuum service. Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Biotechnology Processes Film Processes Photo Chemical Processes Cosmetic Production Semiconductor Manufacturing Food and Beverage Processes Clean Process Steam Vacuum Service True/Tube Micro-Clean Valves Responding to customer s needs, MCF Valves teamed with suppliers to develop a seat material specifically for thermal fluid applications (650 F [343 C]). Creep resistant, compliant and yet stable enough to be precision machined into MCF valve seat and stem seals. Third party test results and extensive field performance studies confirmed it a success. After 15,000 test cycles, MCF s three piece ball valve showed no external leakage and met the ANSI/FCD 70-2 specification for Class VI internal leakage. An operating bonus - low coefficient of friction allows MCF Valves to utilize smaller, less expensive actuators in most applications. Chemical Processing Pharmaceutical Food Processing Pulp and Paper Plastics Thermal (Transfer Fluid) Valves Full flow tank bottom valves are the right choice for bottom line efficiency. Designed and engineered to give fast, unrestricted drainage of tank media, MCF tank bottom valves combine a tank bottom flange with all the features of MCF s standard ball valve. The result is a highly efficient tank bottom performer backed by 30 years of solid worldwide ball valve experience. MCF tank bottom flanges, in either carbon or stainless steel, let you achieve a maximum amount of media agitation with as little dead space as possible. Standard valve components are used to provide easy maintenance.
