Other markets in Asia: The technical textiles industry in Japan Functional apparel for sport and leisure as well as technical textiles is now coming into fashion as the Japanese apparel market has slowed down According to Japanese customs statistics, Japan imported around 16 percent more technical textile products and almost 23 percent more nonwovens and felts in 2014 than in 2013.
