Competition Categories The competition is split into three main categories, with a special category for photographers who are under 16. Wildlife- Red Squirrels here at Haddo, dolphins out at sea or Red Deer on the hills Celebrate Aberdeenshire s amazing wildlife with your best photo. Images in this category could include birds, mammals, fish, flowers, insects, fungi or trees, large and small. You can enter a close-up portrait of a single animal or a wide, landscape shot of a wild flower meadow. Just send us any image that celebrates and highlights Aberdeenshire s superb natural world. History & Heritage- Aberdeenshire has an amazing history, reflected in its grand buildings, distant shipwrecks and ancient stone circles. Your history and heritage image could be of a building, a statue, a ruin, a standing stone, or even a single artefact which sums up the local heritage. People- This one s about you! Celebrate the people of Aberdeenshire- going to work, at a concert, shipping, playing at the beach, or just relaxing outdoors. We re looking for inventive, imaginative shots and portraits which really represent Aberdeenshire folk at work and play. Under 16s - The best image taken by a photographer who is under 16 on 1st October 2016. This should broadly fit into one of the categories above but feel free to be creative and let your imagination run wild! Under 16s are also welcome to enter in any of the categories above although these entries will be charged.
