Level 1 Draw and explain simple electrical diagrams Credits 5 Purpose This unit standrd is for people who are working or preparing to work in electrical trades or other related industry as electricians. People credited with this unit standard are able to: Draw and explain simple electrical circuit diagrams Draw electrical location diagrams Draw single-line diagrams for electricity distribution Draw a schematic circuit diagram from inspection of a given electrical product Draw an electrical block diagram of a given electrical product Draw an electrical wiring diagram of a given electrical product Special notes 1. General Information i. Assessment of this unit standard will be in theory. It will either be in written or oral form or both. 2. Legislation and references i. Performance for this unit standard must comply with the following legislation and codes of practice: Electricity act of 1973, IEEE regulations and their subsequent amendments. Quality assurance requirements BOTA has established a system for moderating the assessment of candidates against this standard.
