Course costs : 976 Attendance : 4 days a week for 3 weeks, Mon to Thurs or 1 day a week for 12 weeks or 2 evenings a week for 12 weeks This course has been developed for those candidates who need to comply with the Part P requirements of the Building Regulations and prove they are competent to carry out the electrical work in dwellings. The course content is based on 9 individual units that are assessed by a mix of internal practical and knowledge assessments and an external (Unit 01) on-line assessment, all knowledge assessments are by multiple-choice questioning. 4 EAL - Level 3 Certificate in Requirements for Electrical Installations, BS 7671 (17th Edition Wiring Regulations, incorporating Amendment No ) Course Cost : 352 Attendance : 4 days for 1 week, Mon to Thurs (exam on final day) or 1 day a week for 4 weeks or 2 evenings a week for 4 weeks This course is designed to equip candidates with the knowledge and understanding of the objectives and application of the 17th Edition Wiring Regulations. It is designed for electricians who install or maintain electrical systems, in either the Domestic, Commercial or Industrial sectors. On successful completion of the course, candidates will be able to relate the requirements of the 17th Edition Wiring Regulations to their work and install and maintain electrical systems in accordance with the requirements of the regulations. 17th Edition Course Content Scope, object and fundamental principles for safety Definitions Assessment of General Characteristics Protection for Safety Selection and Erection of Equipment Special Installations Inspection and Testing Use of Appendices At the completion of the course, there is a multiple choice, on line, exam of 2 hours duration. 5 EAL - Level 3 Certificate in Installing, Testing and Ensuring Compliance of Electrical Installations in Dwellings Course Cost 504 Attendance : 2 weeks, 4 days a week, Mon Thurs or 1 day a week for 8 weeks or 2 evenings a week for 8 weeks This qualification will provide the learner with the skills and knowledge needed for ensuring the safety, quality and technical standard of electrical installation work in dwellings. This qualification meets the minimum qualification level for Qualified Supervisors responsible for electrical work in domestic properties subject to Part P of the Building Regulations and will enable you to self-certify electrical installations in dwellings as well as certify work of others and provide a third party certification service. The course has 8 mandatory units, and consists of both theory and practical activities. Assessment is by multiple-choice questioning and practical assignments EAL Level 3 Award In Approving Electrical Installation work in Dwellings in Compliance with Building Regulations Course Cost 348 Attendance : 1 week for 4 days, Mon Thurs or 1 day a week for 4 weeks or 2 evenings a week for 4 weeks This qualification is designed to enable learners to enhance their competence of understanding and applying the principles, practices and legislation for the inspection, testing, commissioning and certification of electrical installations in order that they can approve electrical installations in dwellings in accordance with the relevant statutory and non-statutory regulations and requirements. 6 Portable Appliance Testing PAT Courses EAL - Level 3 Award in the In-Service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment Course Cost : 230 Attendance : 2 days a week for 1 week or 2 evenings a week for 2 weeks The EAL Level 3 PAT testing course is for people undertaking practical inspection and testing of electrical equipment. Learn how to test portable electrical appliances with the IET - Code of Practice for In-Service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment. This publication is essential as it will be referred to throughout the course and will be taken into the exam. If you already work as an electrician or domestic electrical installer, then this PAT testing course will add another string to your bow and can help you move up in the industry. This is one of the top PAT testing courses for those either involved or looking to become involved in the inspection and testing of electrical equipment (e.g. portable appliances) and/or involved in managing the process of it. 7 Qualified Electricians and Domestic Installers who wish to carry out inspection, testing and commissioning; and periodic inspection, testing and condition reporting of electrical installations may consider these courses :- EAL Level 3 Award in the Initial Verification and Certification of Electrical Installations EAL Level 3 Award In the Periodic Inspection, Testing and Certification of Electrical Installations These awards give the learner an understanding of the theory and practice involved with the initial verification and commissioning, and periodic inspection, testing and condition reporting, of both single and three phase electrical installations. What do these qualifications cover? The application of knowledge involved with the inspection and testing of electrical installations. Each Award has one unit which covers the necessary learning outcomes for initial verification, and periodic inspection and testing of electrical installations. This includes learning outcomes about safe isolation, inspection, safe testing, pre energised and energised tests; documentation and the practical use of test equipment. The examinations for these qualifications are open book. The onscreen assessments allows the use of Guidance Note 3 Inspection & Testing Published by The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET). EAL Level 3 Award in the Initial Verification and Certification of Electrical Installations 1 on screen (OPEN BOOK) exam with 55 questions 4 centre marked practical assessments consisting of: Initial inspection, Earth fault loop impedance testing, Insulation resistance testing, Commissioning of a three phase rig. EAL Level 3 Award In the Periodic Inspection, Testing and Certification of Electrical Installations 2* on screen exams (OPEN BOOK): (Please read important note* below) QCRB3001 Bridging exam: Consisting of 35 questions. QCR3001: Consisting of 35 questions: *Note: Learners who have already achieved the Level 3 Award in the Initial Verification and Certification of Electrical Installations, need only undertake the QCR3001 Exam (one on screen exam). This is because those learners will have already been assessed on the common assessment criteria between the two units. 2 centre marked practical assessments consisting of: Periodic inspection, Periodic inspection and testing.
