ONE PACKAGE ONE INVENTORY MULTIPLE APPLICATIONS One Process Taking care of your customers needs may mean you need to use different styles of packaging in your pharmacy. With MTS Unit Dose you can efficiently accommodate multiple systems. Along with the flexibility MTS Unit Dose provides, there are several optional ways for pharmacies to reduce waste, minimize labor, and control inventory. Pre-Pack Automation MTS pre-pack automation helps your pharmacy gain up to five times more packing efficiency. Centralized Pre-Pack Inventory MTS Unit Dose provides the option to create a centralized inventory of prepackaged foil and blister for use in SelectSeal punch cards, unit dose box, and E-kits for greater economies of scale. OnDemand Automation Fully automated packaging offering patient-specific dispensing is also available through the MTS OnDemand System. Return & Reuse MTS Unit Dose is used in states where the return and reuse of unused medication is permissible.

Reclaimable Unit Dose Box E-kits

Print Foil To print foil lidding stock with the required drug information, including drug name, manufacturer, dosage and expiration date, simply: Enter manufacturer s expiration date, lot number, and other variable data Scan the NDC barcode on the medication container. The pertinent drug information will be automatically retrieved from the MTS database Preview and print the required quantity of foil lidding The printed foil lidding will be applied to the blister-pack during the packaging process. If the workstation is also attached to license plate or PillVue TM printers, the software s MVP (multi-view printing) feature will also allow users to simultaneously preview and print foils and labels to streamline the packaging process. Package Medication Fill the unit dose blister with the required medication and use a heat-sealing device to seal the foil to the blister. The sealed blister sheet can then be inserted into the preferred medication package. The appropriate equipment for your pharmacy will depend on the volume of prepackaging and the medication packaging style used. MTS can provide: Manual sealers Semi-automated fillers and sealers Fully automated packaging options AutoGen MTS-350 OnDemand ACCUFLEX

Dispense as Needed 14-Day - Remove the required number of doses and place in your 14-day system package. Unit Dose Box - Simply separate the sheet into columns, nest together and insert into the box. SelectSeal TM Card - Insert a blister sheet containing the required medication or package directly into the SelectSeal TM punch card. This product allows for the reclamation of unused medication. Single Dose - Every blister is perforated and printed with the pertinent drug information and barcode to facilitate dispensing of individual doses for small counts or E-kit fulfillment.

Printers THERMAL PRINTER Included from MTS: Tharo H-626 thermal transfer printer Auto foil cutter EASYLABEL software with report generator Drug database Barcode scanner Internal network card Customer Furnished: Computer XP or Windows 07 Report printer Microsoft Access Usage: This high-speed durable printer prints 18 sheets of MTS foil (576 unit doses) per minute. It is used for packaging efficiency or when barcode printing is required. It automatically cuts the foil to size, ready for direct application to the unit dose blister. The printer can be used as a stand alone system or in conjunction with MTS automation. Looking for Assurance at a Glance? Consider the PillVue TM Color Labeling System. The PillVue TM Color Labeling System captures high resolution images of medications that are used to produce full-color labels for an effective, easyto-use tool to verify that correct medications are in the package. MVP (multi-view printing) allows simultaneous viewing and printing of license plate labels, pill image labels, and foils for fast and accurate production of pre-packed medications. Computer and monitor NOT included. Foil printer additional. Ask your MTS representative for more information.

Software & Tools Printer comes complete with EASYLABEL software, barcode scanner and database. Barcode Scanner The linear image scanner combines a bright, sharp aiming line with extended reading distance capabilities to deliver exceptional performance in any lighting condition. Scanning the NDC barcode on the medication container speeds up the data entry process while ensuring accuracy. Software Data Input EASYLABEL software is a Windows-based system that is both reliable and easy-to-use. To locate the pertinent drug information, the user enters the lot number, manufacturer s expiration date, and other variable data, then scans the NDC barcode. Additional data print options are available depending on a pharmacy s individual needs: 1/2 and 1/4 tabs Alternate drug names Custom fields Customized Formats EASYLABEL software comes with standard print formats. As an additional service, MTS will customize the foil and label print formats to match the preferences of the customer. Database The scanner retrieves information from a comprehensive medication database that is provided with the system. In the event that the medication is not in the database, a simple function allows the user to add and save new drugs. Reports EASYLABEL software keeps an electronic record of your activity. The record is generated when the foil is printed. A daily production report can be generated in Microsoft Access. MVP (multi-view printing) Workstations connected to multiple printers can take advantage of the MVP feature, which displays up to three label formats on one screen. Users can simultaneously preview up to three labels or foils, select the quantities of each needed, and print to up to three printers using a single print command.

Packaging Equipment Manual AutoGen, Autobond or Gemini Use: Printing: Package Type: Low quantity pre-pack or extemporaneous packaging Use in conjunction with thermal printing options SelectSeal punch card / unit dose box / 14-day / single dose Pre-Pack MTS-350 Use: Printing: Package Type: Medium to high volume pre-packing of unit dose Used in conjunction with thermal printers for higher output SelectSeal punch card / unit dose box / 14-day / single dose OnDemand Automation OnDemand ACCUFLEX Use: Printing: Package Type: Flexible, patient-specific automated packaging Integrated thermal foil printer Standard punch card, SelectSeal punch card, unit dose box, Opti-Pak

AutoGen Autobond Gemini Within this range of equipment is the perfect sealing solution for almost any pharmacy. MTS-350 The MTS-350 can package in excess of 1,000 unit dose cards or 32,000 unit dose medications in an 8-hour shift with one operator. In addition to fulfilling unit dose needs, the same machine can be used for pre-packing controlled medication cards and standard punch cards. OnDemand ACCUFLEX OnDemand AccuFlex combines accurate and efficient packaging automation with the flexibility to fill a variety of medication packaging systems, including unit dose, to provide patient-specific, on demand packaging. The intuitive software directs a robotic arm to remove and add medication cassettes while the machine is running, eliminating system inactivity associated with medication restocking.

Packaging Components Unit Dose Blister Unit Dose blister sheets are fully perforated. Each individual blister can be separated from the others or taken apart in strips, up to 8 units in length. Blisters are available in four sizes: small, medium, large and extra large. The small, medium and large blisters are designed to nest together to optimize box, cart and shelf space. Foil Also referred to as lidding stock. This is a printable foil that displays the pertinent drug information for the contents of the blister. There are several styles of foil available depending on the printer and the packaging systems used. SelectSeal Reclaimable Punch Cards The SelectSeal punch card, used for the reclamation of unused medications, is available in a number of dosage configurations. It seals the card in select places between the blisters, allowing the printed foil to be viewed on the back of the card while retaining the integrity of the package during use. The perforated front of the card and the select sealing pattern allow for the recovery of unused medication without damaging the blister or printed lidding stock. Unit Dose Box MTS offers two sizes of Unit Dose boxes. The blisters are designed to nest together within each box, optimizing the storage space.
