VMS Dealer Portal Optimization Within most VMS customer projects a significant number of customer specific development activities are planned. SAP is providing a number of services in order to speed up VMS projects and reduce overall project costs. Four different VMS Accelerator Service packages are available: Basis Package (Mandatory)* Tools Package (Optional) Process Optimization (Optional) Dealer Portal Optimization (Optional)*² Tools Package (O) Basis Package (M) SAP VMS* Dealer Portal Optimization (O)*² Process Optimization (O) * SAP VMS is a pre-requisite for this service to start *² Process Optimization1 is a pre-requisite for this scope option Within this presentation the Service Dealer Portal Optimization is described which is containing two different accelerators (scope items). VMS Dealer Portal Optimization The VMS Dealer Portal Optimization package is providing process and usability improvements within VMS Dealer portal. Manage Stock / Orders / Inquiries The Manage Stock / Orders / Inquiries search in Dealer Portal replaces the current unit search. It is complementary to the Availability Search. Whereas the Availability Search supports an ordering process providing an overview on orderable and assignable vehicles (not limited to the dealers vehicles) the Manage Stock / Orders / Inquiries search gives an overview enabling the dealer to manage his own objects. The Dealers objects get displayed in different areas: Own Stock, Own Orders, Own Inquiries. The current stock, orders and inquires can be viewed and appropriate actions can get executed. Therefore Manage Stock / Orders / Inquiries is a tool to centrally manage current stock, the order pipeline and open customer demand. SAP SE or an SAP affiliate company. All rights reserved. 6

VMS Dealer Portal Optimization Availability Search Dealer Portal within VMS Dealer Portal a new menu entry Availability Search is delivered. Availability Search supports the process of new order creation by providing a fast and easy overview of orderable units in the dealer portal (as well as stock orders available for assignment or Units/Orders available for transfer in the Dealer Network). In addition the Availability search indicates best fitting units according to individually adjustable parameters. Within the grouped results the sequence of the units can be influenced by a new rule framework. With this service example rules for sorting according to Delivery Date, Stock Age and Distance to Dealer are delivered. From functional point of view the same logic as in the process optimization package Availability Search (Velo) also applies for the availability search when executed from the Dealer Portal. Availability Search (Dealer Portal) In the search result list available units are grouped in order to provide a better overview. Parameters on how units are grouped and the groups themselves can be customized. Available Units (AV) Own Orders (OO) (without an End Customer assigned) Own Stock (OS) (without an End Customer assigned) Network Orders (NO) (other dealers visible orders without an End Customer assigned) Network Stock (NS) (other dealers visible stock without an End Customer assigned) Within the groups sorting rules can be applied to influence the sorting of the units. Thereby individual priorities and best matching units (highest in the sorted list) may be defined. Customer specific sorting rules may be added. Sorting rules may also be combined. Availability Search (Dealer Portal) Within the result groups sorting rules can be applied to influence the sorting of the units. The following rules are delivered with this service: Delivery Date An algorithm is calculating a match factor and assigns priorities to the units depending on the capability to meet the requested delivery date. Stock Age The Stock Age follows a FIFO rule. Older units will get higher assignment priority in order to avoid building up old stock. Distance to Dealer GEO coordinates can be maintained for Dealers. When searching for Network Stock the distance to the Dealer can influence the sorting of the units in the result list. Additional rules can be developed and assigned individually by customer.
