MCSE has indeed a large experience in the development of miniaturized imaging systems and control /processing units. MCSE is currently working for ESA on an Imaging Processing Unit that could be a starting point for the development of a system aiming at enhancing nearrealtime observation capabilities, especially in the context of moving target detection and identification. 1 For details and description of research topics, please visit http://cordis.europa.eu/fp7/
Expertise of the company MCSE develops specific systems in the field of scientific instrumentation for space exploration and has been selected for the development of imaging systems in several ESA missions, like PROBA 1 and 2, SMART1, Rosetta and MarsExpress/Beagle2, and also onboard the International Space Station. MCSE has developed an extensive experience in the following fields: Assessment and test of new technologies for space exploration (several projects for ESA); Development of imaging systems for planetary missions (Rosetta, MarsExpress/Beagle2, SMART1, BepiColombo, Exomars), EO demonstration missions (PROBA 1 & 2) and onboard the ISS (CEA/CNES Andromede/LSO experiment); Development of electronics for space missions (SMART1, PROBA 2, ASTROH); Control and processing units (Very Low Power Data Processing System, Imaging Processing Unit); R&D activities on microcameras based systems (stereo benches, photogrammetry systems, contamination monitoring in harsh environment, spacecraft monitoring, navigation support); Specialization in low mass, low power consumption and harsh environment electronics. key competences Combining a system approach (electronics, optics, mechanics, software and test) with low mass, low power consumption and harsh environment as drivers, and a large experience in endtoend developments, MCSE is able to provide custom solutions to fulfill various imaging systems and control units requirements. references /patents Keywords 2 Partners to be involved MCSE has been involved or is currently involved in the following space missions: ESA missions : ExoMars, BepiColombo, ASTROH, TARANIS, PROBA2, Rosetta, SMART1, Beagle2, PROBA. CNES mission : Andromède mission. NASA mission : Mars Science Laboratory (MSL). Brevets?... Imaging technologies, reducing delays in the delivery of data,..? Microcameras & Space Exploration SA (MCSE) could collaborate with SMEs not active in space and bring its extensive experience in the development of space hardware. Indeed the topic mentions that collaborative projects which bring together SMEs not traditionally working in space projects with Space industry or space research organizations are being sought. MCSE could be in charge of the adaptation and modifications of the terrestrial technologies considering the constraints of space developments (vibrations, temperature, radiations, vacuum, materials, quality, tests, documentation, etc.). MCSE has experience in the development of space hardware for 3 of the 4 activities mentioned in the topic, i.e. instrumentation/robotics, Information handling and Labonachip for space. 1 For details and description of research topics, please visit http://cordis.europa.eu/fp7/
