MARKET FORECAST NOV 2015 Global Content Delivery Networks Market Overview 2015 Jim Davis, Senior Analyst, Service Providers After enjoying robust growth in 2014, the CDN market will see some effects from currency exchange rates, but growth is still forecasted to be in the range of 13.3% to top $3.98bn in 2015. The overall climate for the market remains positive: Companies have raised over $279m in venture funding so far in 2015, as vendors look for new ways to tackle issues such as network and application security in addition to mobile network performance. 2015 451 RESEARCH, LLC WWW.451RESEARCH.COM

Jim has spoken at industry events such as 451 Research s Hosting Transformation Summit, CDN Strategies Summit, Streaming Media West, and Canadian Venture Capital Association s annual meeting. Key Findings The content delivery network (CDN) market again showed impressive growth, with year-over-year gains of 21.3% in 2014 to $3.5bn. Many vendors are finding strong growth outside the North American market. While vendors were reporting strong double-digit revenue growth, that growth was being trimmed by the performance of foreign currencies against a strong American dollar. Despite effects from currency exchange rates, 451 Research still expects growth in the range of 13.3% to top $3.98bn in 2015. Companies in the CDN market raised over $279m, and another crop of startups is emerging with interesting new approaches to content and application delivery challenges. Security principally DDoS and WAF services was a key source of growth outside of traditional content delivery services. Interest in security is one of the key areas of engineering development and new service introductions in 2015. III

Executive Summary INTRODUCTION The 2015 CDN Global Market Overview of public and private vendors shows that 2014 was another strong year of growth in content delivery networks (CDNs). Security and cloud networking will provide a strong path for a CAGR of 14% through 2019.
