Climate Ready Shade Operating Systems Climate Ready Operating Systems consists collectively of motor controllers, other hardware and software packages that will operate all facade and shading element/s for eg. external venetians, ventilation louvres, roller blinds, shutters etc. Climate Ready Operating Systems are installed wireless, hardwired or a combination of both. EZ1 - ZigBee PRO WiFi systems These operating systems are suitable for home owners who are: building /renovating (one or more levels) homes to include multiple shading products updating wiring in existing homes with ceiling access requiring a highly precise and responsive operating system requiring dynamic brightness / wind sensors or weather station requiring air conditioning and/or security, lighting automation, etc requiring entertainment room or audio visual product integration requiring remote access requiring a system that can be upgraded easily. Optional Control Point modules allow for the addition of sensors and audio visual system integration. The EZ1 D Shade Controller can operate stand-alone, networked and / or dynamic using wireless BACnet over ZigBee PRO. Basic software - Horiso Smart Shading Control. Basic software - Horiso Smart Control. (Control Point) The Control Point is a multi-functional data point that allows integration of analog signals, RS 232 communication and provides digital outputs. The Control Point is used to connect analog sensors to the system and offers audio visual system and home automation integration utilising dry contact outputs or the open RS 232 interface. The Control Point is networked using BACnet S/TP. -R (Control Point Router) The Control Point Router is a multi-functional data point with ethernet connectivity (Router functionality) through the backbone. It allows integration of analog signals, RS 232 communication and provides digital outputs. The Control Point Router is used to connect analog sensors to the system and offers audio visual system and home automation integration utilising dry contact outputs or the open RS 232 interface. The Control Point Router is networked using BACnet S/TP. The -R can be installed inside a cabinet which allows the RJ45 connectors into the horizontal BACnet and the vertical ethernet. The cabinet has also two GPO for the router and a service power point - if required. -Z (Control Point ZigBee Pro WiFi) The Control Point Wireless ZigBee PRO BACnet router is a multi functional data point. It allows the horizontal network (shading controller per floor) to communicate on the vertical Ethernet Backbone that connects to the shading server. The router allows integration of analog signals, RS 232 communication and digital outputs, offering audio visual system and home automation integration. EZ ZigBee PRO Repeater The EZ Repeater extends an EZ network or brings wireless devices into an EB network. It allows integration with EB controllers, or connects to a standard USB power supply to operate as a standalone repeater. ZigBee protocol creates a reliable and expandable wireless mesh communication between controllers, Control Points and switches. DCI 6 / 12 (Digital Port Expansion unit) The DC1 is available as a 6 or 12 dry contact input expansion unit. It enables control of additional sensors from 6 to 12 for shading product operation via a micro USB. Ethernet network The vertical backbone is running off un-managed Ethernet network switches which are located inside the BACnet router cabinet on designated floors. Analog brightness sensor This brightness sensor is adapted to the sensitivity of the human eye. The measuring values are transmitted as analogue signals with a proportional voltage range of 0-10 VDC. The sensor achieves an almost direction-independent sensibility range of 0-90 in elevation and 0-360 in azimuth. Analog wind sensor The wind sensor collects the speed and wind direction from the mounting point of the sensor s position. The measuring values are transmitted as analogue signals with a proportional voltage range of 0-10 VDC. Digital Sensor Kit The Digital Sensor Kit is a low cost combination sensor which senses light and wind conditions at the installed location. Thresholds for respective light and wind levels can be set, as well as a delay time to return to auto operation. The values are represented by a digital value (not real physical value) which can be programmed by the user. If the light levels exceed the pre-set value, the shades are in Auto ode, below the value the shades are retracted. If the wind threshold is exceeded the shades retract and are set back to auto once the wind has calmed down. No dynamic wind or brightness response profile can be used in conjunction with this sensor type. 16 Summary of terms
Home automation system integration The motor controller will automatically operate the solar shading system in response to the use of home devices such as TV, air conditioning, home theatre, lighting and security. BS (Building anagement System) and audio visual system integration The motor controller Low-Level BS Integration such as air conditioning, audio visual and other sub-system integrations require dry-contact connection to the shading system receiving and sending signals which can be individually programmed to suit the required needs. Alternately to lower costs, this interface can be realised by using the Standard Serial Interface RS232 to connect with automation systems such as C-BUS (command exchange using ASCII codes). Horiso Smart Switch Is a wireless 7-channel momentary push button switch, flush mounted or surface mounted version. It provides access for an individual user to override the shading product operation. Bluetooth Adaptor Is an adaptor to enable direct connection with other compatible Bluetooth devices such as iphones, ipads etc for the operation of shading products, known as via Smart Remote Control. Basic shading server This shading server is based on a standard desktop medium performance server. The system platform is icrosoft Windows 7 Professional and Sun Java for the shading application. The system includes a single TeamViewer remote access license for servicing and access for operation. All shading server software products are HTL based and can be accessed from any external PC, (iphone, ipad, tablet, smart phone etc) which is running an internet browser and has access to internet. Software Horiso Smart Shading Control The Horiso Smart Shading Control software is a basic software package and provides safety soft limits (prevents shade damage if motor limits fail). It enables precise shade adjustment in angle degree or mm for facade uniformity, preset stops, programmable parameters and basic scheduling. Horiso Smart Remote App - residential A Web App enabling the integration of Iphone, Ipad and tablets utilising standard Bluetooth connectivity to operate individual shades or shade groups eg. bedrooms, entertainment room, kitchen, office etc. Customised solutions: easy programmable. Dynamic Brightness Response An intelligent response to scalable brightness values (such as solar glare). Individual banks of blinds on different levels / angles at varying times will respond to the degree of solar glare. Dynamic Wind Response An intelligent response to scalable pressure values of wind velocity and directions on the shading control product. Individual banks of blinds on levels / angles will respond appropriately to differing wind pressure. ST[a]ATS ST[a]ATS (solar tracking automatic tilt synchronisation). This response is a highly precise adjustment to the shading system and is dependent upon the input from the solar path calculus, including ECO-ode. ST[a]ARS ST[a]ARS (solar tracking automatic roller synchronisation). This response is a highly precise adjustment to the shading system and is dependent upon the input from the solar path calculus, including ECO-ode. Horiso Smart Shading Server - residential Is a single user wireless control application that can be installed onto every control point installation,, -R and -Z and permits a direct connection to a WiFi modem network (if existing), or a standard ethernet WiFi switch. It provides remote access to operate shading products via hand held devices such as ipads, iphones, and other smart phones and tablets. Solar Path Calculus This calculation is used for the automatic control of glare and direct sunlight into home. The calculation includes the GPS position, facade orientation and date / time of the day. The operating system adjusts the shades to block direct sun light while allowing sufficient light into the floor space. ECO-ode Eco-ode enables the shading system to preserve the inside temperature of the building by extending the shades over night, utilising solar radiation as an energy source during the day (winter mode). Eco-ode will: Integrate all outside temperatures. Restrict manual override if air conditioning is in cooling mode. Shades close or open if temperature is below set point. Shades retract to harvest solar energy if air conditioning is in heating mode. This mode is triggered by an external temperature sensor (optional), a schedule, or by communication with the air conditioning system. BACnet The internationally acknowledged BACnet is a (-R) communications protocol for building automation and control networks.
