At crowded places like during Concerts, Fashion shows or major sports events you will never be able to send out a high-def stream, since the 3G/4G network will be crowded. This happens because statistcly every person uses 1.5 smart phones and tries to upload pictures or text messages to platforms like Facebook or Twitter. We strongly believe that the most relieable and robust connectivity solution will always be a Satellite Uplink. In the past these solutions were to expensive and not really mobile. 3 The System The core components of the system are the fully motorized antenna platform, coming in a rock solid flight case and the Smartphone acting as antenna control unit. The smartphone is connected to the modem via WiFi and to the motorizedantenna platform via Bluetooth. 5 Set-up & Operation At first minicaster Satellite Uplink Kit should be roughly positioned in a way, that it is standing stable on the floor and is mounted properly on the Tripod. In case of heavy wind the direction of the wind shall be parallel to the unit. After opening the cover the feedarm has to be mounted on the motorplatform. The feedarm is fixed by a single screw, which can be tightened without any tools. In the next step the reflector has to be mounted on the backstructure. The reflector is transported in a separate lightweight flightbag, which can be transported as Hand Lugguage during flights if needed. It is fixed by five screws which again can be tightened without tools. Modem, Router and power supply are pre-mounted and ready to use. The cable between motor platform and Modem/Router has a total length of 20m. The unit also comes with a 240V prime power connector. After it is connected to prime power, the Start Auto Search button will be pushed instantly on the smart phone. After reduction of the Az search range by suitable reading of the compass values, the smartphone MMI shows the different steps of the pointing process. A ONLINE sign confirms the completion of the pointing process. The duration from unpacking to operation is approx. 7 Minutes. 5
