How can Parents help? Encourage them to organise and extend their notes: high quality revision materials are essential Encourage engagement with the Assessment Objectives, particularly during Y11 revision phase: this is the time when they need to be clear about which skills, texts etc are needed for different exams They will be tested at regular intervals throughout the course; how could you help them to maintain resilience if a test does not go well? Ask `Why? and `How? questions, then encourage them to note down new thoughts. Can they use a technical term or analytical verb to express their ideas?

GCSE Maths Results 88% A* - C 27% A/A*
GCSE Maths There are NO controlled assessments. For the new Maths GCSE there will be 3 exams one non calculator paper and two calculator papers. All the papers will be 1 hour 30 mins. There will be 2 tiers of entry: Foundation will cover grades 1 to 5 and Higher will cover grades 4 to 9.
GCSE Maths Our students have already been learning the skills and concepts in maths that they will need for their new GCSEs. Everything they have previously - and are currently - studying in Maths lessons is leading towards their new GCSE and subsequent A levels. In Mathematics there are 3 main strands: Mathematical concepts Mathematical problem solving Mathematical fluency The GCSE exams are taken at the end of the course (in the summer of Year 11).

Supporting your daughter Think positive - they can do maths!
Develop a Growth Mind-set "Maths is really hard. I just can't do it" Maths needs a lot of practice - just like anything else in life.
What the students need to do Work to the best of their ability. Take responsibility for their learning. Bring their maths equipment to every lesson. Catch up on missed lessons. Complete homework punctually. Show how they did the calculation! Practise their number skills. Use the resources on the Rosebery Hub and maths websites. Have a positive attitude.

Involve them in everyday maths measuring up for a new carpet, 20% off in a sale, check the shopping bill. Practise their number skills.
