Founded 22 years ago Employees: 51 Projects developed in Germany, Argentina, Belgian, Brazil, Chile, Equador, Spain, USA, France, England, Mexico, Venezuela 3
The Companies Refineries with SIGMAFINE operational REPLAN (SOTEICA) REVAP (SOTEICA) RLAM (SOTEICA) RECAP RLAM (SOTEICA) REGAP REMAN LUBNOR REDUC (SOTEICA) REFINERIES IN BRAZIL 4
Presentation objectives To show the usage of SIGMAFINE in the generation of reconciled data in many different tasks in oil refineries improving data quality optimizing refinery operation, resulting in profits Hard work and perseverance 5
Why to implement mass balance FW Management Operations Ltd (1995) Petrobras needs to get the refineries to carry out a daily mass balance in order to establish accurately the FUEL & LOSS... This will then give a good indication of the areas for improvements in the management of the oil within the refinery, and will indicate the economic justification for improvements. 6
FW Management Operations Ltd The most important KPI used in the international oil refining industry is not measured in both refineries. Oil is money. IF IT IS NOT MEASURED, IT CANNOT BE CONTROLLED. 7
Why to implement mass balance SIGMAFINE IN PETROBRAS 2000 Bid to buy mass balance system (won by SOTEICA an OSI partner) 6 turn key projects 5 in house projects 2 3 projects every year 2003 Decision made to hire SOTEICA to operate the system at some refineries June 2004/April 2005/March 2007 Mass Balance Workshops 8

Perspectives and future applications Ten Rules for the Good Life 1) Never put off till tomorrow what you can do today. 2) Never trouble another for what you can do yourself. 3) Never spend your money before you have it. 4) Never buy what you do not want because it is cheap; it will never be dear to you. 5) Pride costs us more than hunger, thirst, and cold. 6) Never repent of having eaten too little. 7) Nothing is troublesome that we do willingly. 8) Don't let the evils which have never happened cost you pain. 9) Always take things by their smooth handle. 10) When angry, count to ten before you speak; if very angry, count to one hundred.
