Participation in challenging courses has grown 184% since 2004. In 2012 and 2013, 15 Cobb high schools were recognized by the Georgia Department of Education as AP Honor Schools for increasing AP access and participation. Cobb is among just 388 public school systems in the U.S. to earn a place on the College Board s AP Achievement List for expanding access to rigorous AP coursework.

Georgia Council of Teachers of Mathematics honored Deborah Poss of Lassiter High with the organization s highest honor, the Gladys M. Thompson Distinguished Service Award.
