General The AS-Interface 2I/2O-PCBoard is a slave for the fieldbus system AS-Interface. It is designed to the specification V2.11 and may be configured in the extended address mode. The profile is S-B.A.*.E (2 outputs and 2 inputs). Up to two 2-wire or 3-wire binary sensors (proximity switches, light barriers,...) and two binary actuators (valves, signalling lamps, relais,...) may be connected to the module. The AS-Interface 2I/2O-PCBoard is intended for the use in terminal chambers of automation components (e.g. valve heads, drives, signal towers,...) in order to make them AS-Interface compatible. Optionally it is possible to reduce the output currents to 50%, 25% or 12,5% of the nominal value with an integrated pulse width modulation. Rev. 5, March 11, 2006 Page 1 of 6
AS-Interface PCBoard 2. Block Diagram Block diagram of the AS-Interface 2I/2O-PCBoard 3. First Steps At the time of shipping the AS-Interface 2I/2O-PCBoard has the address 0. In an AS- Interface network every slave must have an address in the range 1A to 31B. No address may occur more than once. Further it is not allowed to configure a standard slave and a slave with extended address mode with the same address (e.g. slave 17 and slave 17A or 17B) in the same network. Setting the address with the addressing tool Prior to installation of the slave in the network the address is set with the addressing tool which is connected to the ports ASi+ and ASi-. For further details please refer to the instructions of the addressing tool. Setting the address in the network Alternatively the AS-i 2I/2O-PCBoard may be connected to the AS-Interface network and the AS-Interface master can set the correct address (in projecting mode only). It has to be noted, however, that only one slave with address 0 may be connected to a network at any time. Page 2 of 6 Rev. 5, March 11, 2006
abcxyz Setting the parameters Optionally the AS-Interface parameters may be set. With the parameters the output currents may be individually reduced to 50%, 25%, 12,5% of the nominal value with an integrated pulse width modulation. This is a function of the AS-i master. 4.
