1.2. Usage While starting Microsoft Excel for the first time after the installation of the optislang Excel Add- In a dialog will appear. This is a security setting of Microsoft Excel and must be confirmed to let the "optislang Export" button appear in Microsoft Excel on the menu bar in the section "Add-Ins". 4
The optislang export wizard will initiate by pressing this button. Then it leads the user through the following steps: 1. Selecting the input and output parameter values. Select the field "Data can be found in the following range" then choose the data by selecting the range on the sheet. 5
There are two ways the data can be organized in the sheet: i. If the data is organized horizontally (so each design is one line), "Horizontal layout (more designs in additional lines)" must be chosen. It is possible that the selected range contains the parameter names. In this case "First column contains parameter names" must be selected. ii. If however the data is organized vertically (so each design is one column), "Vertical layout (more designs in additional columns)" must be chosen. It is possible that the selected range contains the parameter names. In this case "First row contains parameter names" must be selected. If the parameter names are not found in the already selected range, in both cases it is possible to give a separate range for them while choosing the option "Parameter names can be found in the following range" and then selecting the range with the parameter names. It is possible to add more than one sheet range where the data can be found. Press "Show list" on the left-hand side and a list appears which can be filled. By hitting the button "Add" on the left side of the dialog it is possible to select multiple ranges of parameter definitions. Another entry in the table appears and the user is able to select the data in the previous way. In every step it is checked if the number of the selected designs is equal to the already chosen ones. Selecting already defined entries in the list and pressing "Remove" deletes the chosen section. 6
2. Selecting possibly included design numbers. If there are no design numbers inside the sheet, selecting "Continuous design enumeration (starting with 1)" enumerates the extracted designs continuously from 1. Otherwise "Design numbers can be found in the following range" can be chosen and then it is possible to select the range with the corresponding design numbers. 3. Saving the selected data to a specified location with a chosen name. 7
