SWISS Advance Seat Reservation 1/5 SWISS booking Guideline f Travel Agents: Update on ASR in Europe due to new European fare structure IMPORTANT: It is mandaty to be familiar with the previous ASR Guideline, the changes due to the new concept in Europe will be made and referenced to this guideline. Introduction Effective 22JUN15, SWISS will adapt the ASR product in Europe due to the new European fare structure. You will find the changes in the below chapter which includes new booking processes that must be followed. In the fare guideline you have been infmed of the ancillary services which are included in the new European fares. Also ASR is affected and depending on the purchased fare, the service is included excluded. SWISS has decided that all passengers buying a LIGHT fare product must pay f their ASR, hence HON/SEN members, their companions and accompanied passengers booked on same separate PNRs are no longer entitled to a free ASR. Additionally passengers buying a CLASSIC and FLEX Fare are entitled to free ASR f certain categies and HON/SEN members and their beneficaries may continue to book ASR free of charge in all categies. In der to reflect these different ASR benefits accdingly, there is a need to change the booking as well as the fulfilment process. The guideline focuses on the ASR handling whenever a passenger has bought a new European fare product. F GDS procedures and entries please refer to your GDS helpdesk. Then the MMnumber can be reinserted. Exception: F 1G agents LX needs to be contacted to remove the MM-number as this is not done automatically when removing the number from their system. If they (HON/SEN) purchase a combined fare which includes LIGHT fare with a CLASSIC/FLEX fare, f the CLASSIC fare all ASR seat categies are non chargeable but f the LIGHT fare ASR must be charged CLASSIC FARES: F all passengers purchasing a CLASSIC fare the Standard/Chargeable ( C ) seat categy is included and this means it is non-chargeable. The seat is always subject to availability and is not guaranteed. Preferred (J) and Extra legroom seat (E) remains chargeable. F HON/SEN members and their companions, who purchase a CLASSIC fare in Europe, all ASR seat categies are non chargeable If they (HON/SEN) purchase a combined fare which includes LIGHT fare which includes LIGHT fare with a CLASSIC/FLEX fare, f the CLASSIC fare all ASR seat categies are non chargeable but f the LIGHT fare ASR must be charged FLEX FARES: F All passengers purchasing a FLEX fare the Standard/Chargeable ( C ) and Preferred (J) seat categy is included and this means it is non-chargeable. The system thus recognizes whether the seat is free of charge and in this case agent receives a KK-message and EMD-issuance is not necessary. 2) If a free seat is booked befe a ticket-issuance agent will see the message payment required but can igne it. Once the ticket is issued, a fictitious EMD will be issued automatically in the LX PSS but the agent doesn t receive any confirmation message. Agent needs to know that no EMD-issuance is necessary. 1G will show the crect price f a free seat (0CHF), since the system is pricing accding to the new fare base codes, but the agent should still know, that no EMD issuance is necessary f free seats. 1S: There are two different processes: 1) *recommended* First issue the ticket and request the ASR only afterwards.
