Infineon at a glance 2015 www.infineon.com

We make life easier, safer and greener with technology that achieves more, consumes less and is accessible to everyone. Microelectronics from Infineon is the key to a better future. Part of your life. Part of tomorrow.

We shape the future For an easier, safer and greener world Our society faces a number of challenges: The world s population is growing rapidly and more and more megacities are emerging. Demand for energy continues to spiral across the globe. At the same time, the rising need for climate mitigation calls for new solutions in many areas of everyday life. At Infineon, we make the world easier, safer and greener. Barely visible, semiconductors have become an indispensable part of our daily lives. Chips from Infineon play an essential role wherever energy is generated, transmitted and used efficiently. They safeguard data communication, reduce harmful emissions produced by cars and are paving the way for driverless vehicles. We make life easier Infineon s semiconductors make day-to-day life easier whether that be through more comfort in cars, intelligent lighting systems or innovative mobile communications. Thanks to our technologies, smartphones and tablets have increasingly compact and lighter chargers, shorter charging cycles and longer battery lives. We make life safer Whether online or in documents such as electronic passports, confidential data must be protected against misuse. Infineon security chips use innovative encryption technologies to safeguard our virtual identities. We also help make our roads safer through solutions that support drivers more effectively, also allowing vehicles to react automatically in hazardous situations. In addition, our solutions make luxury- grade automotive safety systems affordable in the small and mid-sized segment. We make life greener Our world needs more and more energy. Which is why, in future, we will have to produce, transmit and use energy more effectively. Our semiconductors are used to efficiently generate electricity from solar and wind sources. They also enable energy to be transmitted with almost no losses. Our technologies reduce energy consumption in cars, trains, industrial plants, consumer electronics and household appliances. We create solutions for the world of today and tomorrow.

Applications Our four business segments cover a broad spectrum of applications that are already helping to shape a better future. We hold leading positions in these markets. Automotive In the Automotive (ATV) segment, we develop semiconductor solutions for a wide range of applications in combustion engine cars as well as in hybrid and electric drives. Power semiconductors significantly boost drive efficiency, which, in turn, reduces emissions. Microcontrollers and sensors developed by ATV are used in advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), making vehicles smarter and safer on the road. In the networked car of the future, our security microcontrollers will help protect sensitive data. Infineon was number two in the global automotive semiconductor market in 2014, accounting for a market share of 10.5 percent. Industrial Power Control Chips and modules from our Industrial Power Control (IPC) segment are used to generate, transmit and use electricity efficiently and with virtually no losses. High-current applications from washing machines through industrial drives to rail vehicles and off-shore wind parks rely on IPC products. In 2014, Infineon was number one in the power semiconductor market (discrete power semiconductors and modules), capturing a market share of 19.2 percent.

Power Management & Multimarket Our Power Management & Multimarket (PMM) segment specia lizes in power semiconductors for power supply systems and modules for mobile communication applications. PMM makes chargers smaller, lighter and more efficient, thus cutting energy consumption significantly. Specialized components such as high frequency and sensor modules turn mobile phones into smartphones. PMM develops highly reliable and long-lasting semiconductor products for medical applications and the aerospace sector. In 2014, Infineon was number one in the information and communication technology market (standard MOSFET power transistors), accounting for a market share of 27.8 percent. Chip Card & Security Chip Card & Security (CCS) addresses the need for security in a world where people increasingly interact and communicate via electronic devices and over digital networks. CCS is the leading provider of security technologies, offering made-to-measure and off-the-shelf customer-focused solutions for everything from established smart card technologies to new, emerging applications such as Internet of Things. Our proven security expertise and technology innovation is built on almost 30 years of experience and system competence. A broad security portfolio makes us the partner of choice for today s and tomorrow s security challenges. In 2014, Infineon was number two in the microcontroller-based chip card IC market, with a market share of 23.9 percent.
