Projects (selection) Following is a list of selected current projects: FabriQ, 2013 - current Social Innovation Incubator, Milan FabriQ is the Social Innovation Incubator of the Municipality of Milan managed by Fondazione in partnership with Impact Hub Milan. A 750sqm building in a suburb of the city, the incubator opened beginning 2014 and currently hosts and supports 9 social enterprises. My role: strategy and general coordination, strategic alliances, special projects. Open INCET, 2015 current Centre for Open & Social Innovation, Turin It provides top quality acceleration and consulting services to social enterprises in the city and nationally. It will also animate the local area and promote social entrepreneurship by matching social needs, technology and investors with teams of innovators. Milan Hub Makers, 2015 - current R&D Lab for digital fabrication and social entrepreneurship, Milan An R&D centre for the makers community, a training and education centre for young people aspiring to start and manage Fab Labs, and an accelerator for social enterprises applying digital fabrication technologies to solve societal challenges. TRAINING EXPERIENCES Following is a selection of relevant training experiences: 2012 Focus: Leadership Project: Leadership for Mentoring Client: Unicredit Group This 4-day leadership development programme is currently being deployed to about 60 senior figures from a diversity of functions within the group in order to prepare them to take up the role of Mentors to younger high achievers in a career development path. The in class training is completed by a six months once a month remote coaching sessions for groups of five people. 2011 Focus: Diversity Project: Managing Diversity Learning Module Client: United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), Global A 100 page stand alone learning module for the organisation s over 6,600 staff spread across 262 offices in 116 countries around the world on managing diversity. Focus: Innovation Project: Promoting innovation Client: Bristol Myers Squibb, Global Our client, after a series of bio-tech acquisitions, wanted to transform its business model from a traditional big pharma company to focus on bio-pharma. Our job was to support the organisation in moving towards a more agile and innovative corporate culture. To achieve this we developed 1-2 day open innovation seminars in their offices around the world, involving all functions and all levels of management. The objective of these seminars was to educate the particpants in methodologies and practical tools so the could immediately start working on innovation projects. A section of the seminars was devoted to understand the Innovation Styles model and its direct application to shifting behaviours to foster a team climate for innovation. 2010 Focus: International management Project: Create relationships for sales Client: Ferrari, Global We designed a customer relationship programme as a two plus two days intervention and delivered in seven languages (Italian, English, Spanish, German, Chinese and Japanese) to the company s entire dealers network. So far over 500 participants have attended the programme that has been delivered in ten different locations around the world. The attending audience is a mix of sales managers, sales executives, marketing and CRM managers. Topics range from understanding the evolving luxury client, to tools and techniques to improve customer acquisition, satisfaction and retention. Feedback on the programme has been consistently good to great in all locations. 2010 Focus: International management Project: Effective Management Client: Salvatore Ferragamo Asia pacific Ferragamo needed to prepare the managers of his office in Shanghai for the job. The intervention lasted 10 days, divided into 5 modules of two days each. Training topics covered: basic management skills, problem solving, time management, team management, project management. Participants appreciated the interactive, multimedia style of the training and requested to have a two day follow up at a six months distance from the main intervention. 2009 Focus: Gender equality in the labour market Project: Flexicurity under a gender perspective Client: Giacomo Brodolini Foundation The overall objective of the project was to increase partners knowledge and awareness on the implementation of flexicurity policies in a gender perspective. The achievement of this objective was intended at the diffusion of a gender mainstreamed approach to flexicurity. One of the main activities of the project was the organisation of peer reviews among partner institutions (Italy, Bulgaria, Czech Republic) aimed at fostering mutual learning and exchange of experiences. 2008 Focus: Sales Project: Effective Communication for sales Client: Hong Seh Group, Singapore The Hong Seh Group is the main importer of luxury items such as cars, yachts and motocycles for Singapore. His team of sales people needed to improve their ability to deal with ever sophisticated and demanding clients. All 20 participants went through a six days programme working on communication and sales skills specific for the luxury market. Six months after the training sales results improved by 10%. 2007 Focus: Marketing Project: New Trends in Marketing Client: Starwood, Italy This training has been deployed to the General Managers of Sheraton Hotels in Italy of the Starwood brand. The objective was to provide participants with an overview of market trends and business drivers in order to inform better management decisions in marketing the hotel chain. 2006 Focus: Client Relationship Management Project: Better care, Happier Clients Client: Starwood, Italy This training was developed for the Managers of Staff of Sheraton Hotels in Italy of the Starwood brand. The end objective of the intervention was to improve customer satisfaction through the hotel chain. The specific objective of the project was to provide Managers of hotel staff with better client relationship and people management competences. 2006 Focus: Team building Project: The Team Building Game Client: PricewaterhouseCoopers, Italy Over 250 people in a one-day interactive game aimed at passing on to them the key messages of what it takes to create and manage a successful team. Delivered to all the junior consultants of the company in Italy, this game was totally developed and customised for the client. The structure of the game consisted in a supply chain simulation, where participants would play different roles along the chain. Simple rules allowed for the game to unfold as participants were playing, and an effective debrief at the end emphasised the lessons related to team management. The intervention was fun and appreciated by this young crowd of people. 2006 Focus: Team building Project: The Team Convention Client: Toyota Financial Services, Italy The need was to improve the internal climate of the financial branch of the company in Italy. Around 100 people attended this two days convention created appositely for the organisation. Different short lectures were given to participants on the state of the company and scenarios for the future by the top management. A task was given to participants: to interpret the future of the company by creating short movies and enacting innovative ideas for the development of the organisation. At the end of the convention movies were played back to the all plenary and the top management, Oscars were assigned to best picture, best actor etc. 2005 Focus: Leadership Project: Preparing the leaders Client: Toyota Financial Services, Italy This training was delivered to the 6 top managers of the financial arm of the Toyota Motor corporation in Italy. The training intervention lasted 6 days and took place in a remote location in west Africa. Isolation, nature and self-reflection were the center pieces of this journey through the elements of effective leadership and personal transformation. Participants mentioned several times during and after the training that it probably was the most powerful experience of their lives. 2004 Focus: Management Project: Effective management skills Client: Toyota Motor, Italy The 20 managers of the company were asked to outperform their previous years of good and sustainable growth. In order to achieve the goal, the needed more robust and sophisticated management skills. The training was delivered in 12 days, divided into modules of 2 days each, and covered extensively topics ranging from people management to project management passing through problem solving and performance effectiveness. The delivery method, which interlinked theory and practice through extensive use of case studies and simulations, was particularly appreciated by participants.
